The double edged axe was traditionally used by lumberjacks who benefitted from always having a spare edge! One they could use for heavy, rough tasks whilst the other was kept for lighter finer work. Nowadays an axe like the Wetterhall is used by enthusiasts and those involved in throwing competitions.
The Hultarfors Wetterhall axe is hand forged and made from Swedish quality steel in the forge at Hults Bruk. The forging tradition goes as far back as 1697, and the steel head is struck 40-60 times to increase density and durability to the head. It is then sharpened and polished ready for use. This axe has been named after Bo Wetterhall, the man who served longer than anyone at Hults Bruk.
The handle is crafted from American Hickory and treated with linseed oil. It is supplied with a leather sheath. Take care of your axe and it will stay a faithful companion for many years to come.
