Gerber Zilch Black Blade/G10 Coyote Handle
The edge retention of the Zilch's blade is really good for the price. To be honest I find that its like that for the other Gerbers I own. They're well made tough hard working knives. I've seen some write-ups that are critical of the blade steel, but I've found that they work for me. Some of the older style steel is softer perhaps, but it can be maintained and sharpened easily enough. I'm old fashioned in some ways perhaps. I reckon they work well anyway. Size wise the blade is just over three inches. long but the entire knife weighs just over 2 ounces. I feel like I get more than that though. Despite the light weight it still has steel liners so it feels nice and sturdy. The knife is so small and light. The G10 handles look good. They are shaped nicely, and the grooves and edges give it grip. I like how it feels in my hand. You've got the ability to one hand open and close if needed. It has an overall smooth action. I've been carrying it everywhere in my pocket or the front pouch of my pack since getting it. It is a really good knife for the money. A great value EDC. Again, you get a lot of knife for the money in my opinion. Really like it. HH are their usual great selves. That's why I repeatedly go back to them!
