I already own one, had it almost 5 years I think, I saw the new version had a different design which I don’t like so I bought a spare one whilst the original version is still available

Excellent utility knife. Perfect for opening boxes and packaging. Lightweight but very sturdy.

I've had my EAB for so many years I've lost count and it gets used and abused daily both at work in a factory and at home. The lockup is still solid and reassuring as is the detent. I've never had it open in my pocket to pull out a hand full of blood and pain (unlike some folding utility knives I've had..) and I've had a ton of people ask me about it and end with one themselves. This is the only utility knife you'll need.

This thing is great, normally I don't bother with Gerber gear but this is well worth the price! It's absolutely solid in hand!

Incredibly well built, and one-hand operateable. However, hooked blades don't fit too well, and aren't properly supported by the lower bar along the blade edge.

Clever way to use a Stanley type utility blade. Compact but not lightweight. Not really meant for prying or twisting of course. But it works well for its intended purposes. Has a nice pleasant and tactile feel. One quickly adapts to the proper hold. Until it becomes familiar, as the saying goes, mind your fingers! The lock means it's not meant for EDC. So it stays at home. Overall, I like it.

Only one flaw

This has been my EDC for a long time now and I wouldn't be without one. I work in a goods inwards / despatch and it is ever present in the coin pocket of my work trousers. I use it constantly and would be lost without it. Also I find it very easy to remove, open, use, close and put back again with one hand. It takes a little practice and the mechanism can be a bit stiff at first but it become second nature very quickly. I have owned several of these over the years and have only found there to be one flaw with the design. The threaded hole where the screw holds the blade in has a tendency to ream after a while, depending on how heavy handed you are when replacing the blade. It usually happens to me around the two year mark. That aside I couldn't do without one of these and I'll be buying another when the time comes.
