    Esee Junglas

It’s all about task and purpose right? Most of the time when I’m out in the woods I’ll use a combination of small axe, saw and pukko, but what do when the situation calls for a different beast, look no further. The sheath system is one of the best I’ve ever encountered, as for the blade itself, where do I start? As expected it’s fiercely sharp, the balance is exceptional, there’s no distal taper but it feels like there is, sorcery, it feels lighter than it should. The handle is the definition of ergonomic, overall the whole package hum’s with reliability and quality. I’ve customised the belt loop and attached a Tops mini Scandi to the sheath, am very happy with this setup. Incredible service once again from HH.

What a great product from ESEE. Lets talk about the quality Kydex scabbard first. This has three points of retention. #1 - It is a click-fit, with a slide-lock. #2 - It has an adjustable retaining strap, with a mil-spec snap. #3 - It has a toggle flap, at the butt. How rare is that. This must be the only production fixed-blade, currently in production, with a jump-certified scabbard (3 points of retention). I know Blackjack made one, years ago. And the only other one I know off is made by a custom knife-maker in the USA. I can't remember his name at the moment. On to the knife. Blade - just under 10.5". Handle 5.75" long. Stock - 4.95mm thick. Extended tang - .4" long. Balance point - 1.25" in front of the first scale bolt, (just in front of the hilt). All specs. approx. Thanks to HH for a great price. I am very pleased with my purchase !

    ESEE

You really ought to read and watch the youtube reviews of this knife comapred to the RTAK. The latter has far inferior quality control hence lots of blades breaking when chopping fire wood etc. Unless you have used and put one of these blades through its paces you really should think twice when comparing the two. Although I would concede the junglas is rather higher than it should be.

I have a Junglas, and, though I can't comment on the RTAK, I would imagine it's worth paying the extra for ESEE's fantastic sheath system, and that's before you take into consideration the reviews saying that the ESEE has superior fit and finish, and more ergonomic handle. But even more important to me was the lifetime warranty and outstanding customer service.
