The Condor Selknam Knife honours the aboriginal inhabitants of “Tierra del Fuego” in the extreme south of Chile. The Selk'nam tribe succumbed to infectious diseases brought to their land on first contact with European settlers. They were skilled hunters, fishers and nomadic land collectors of great size and strength.
The Selknam Knife has a full tang blade with convex edge. The back of the spine has a finger grip for use during controlled cuts. It has a Condor Classic finish and a “Coconut Breaker” for breaking or crushing. The back of the handle has a notch for use as a “Bowdrill” and a scraper for starting fire with ferrocerium rods, thanks to its 90° steel cut. It is supplied with leather sheath with an included fire striker, shapener pocket and a loop for a fire rod.
