    Cold Steel Voyager Large

Posted by Michael on 20th Dec 2020

Well, I had this knife for a few months now and I have to say that I am more than happy. It was very sharp OTB and the edge has held up until now. I sharpened it yesterday and was able to achieve a razor edge within less than 10 minutes, including stropping. The AUS 10A Steel is a really positive surprise. The Voyager is always in my pocket, while in appropriate surroundings obviously, and I use it for everything from food preparation, over cardboard recycling to cut off throwing sticks when I walk my dog across the fields and meadows of Lancashire. The only thing I've changed is the pocket clip, I took it off. Between the diamond pattern on the grip and the stiff clip, it jshredded the seams on my trouser pockets. I've put on I nice homemade Paracord lanyard and just carry it in my pocket.

    Solid knife

Posted by Darren Turner on 7th Mar 2020

I bought this knife to try Out the AUS10a steel. So far so good, I have put a new edge on it as the OTB grind was a touch off with some irregular spots on it. It takes an edge and holds it really well. The general construction is good. Typical stiff lock but it does ease up over time and use. The pocket clip is very tight and the aggressive handle scales will trash your pocket after using it twice! The grip is comfortable for extended use and the blade shape is useful for almost everything you need a knife for. In short a simple, well built and useful knife capable of anything you want to do with a folder.

    Excellent Folder

Posted by Wideranger on 17th Jan 2020

This knife is probably not the first Cold Steel folder you think of when you think Cold Steel, but makes an extremely good alternative to something like the Recon 1, Lawman or AK47 especially when its about half the price. Mine is issued in AUS 10 A steel which I have to say is looking like an extremely good steel for this style of knife. The older ones were AUS 8, so if you had experience of one of those be aware of the upgrade. This knife is easily one of the sharpest blades I have ever used straight out of the box. The very first time I tried to close the blade, my index finger was still in the finger choil, when I pressed on the back lock the weight of the blade (by no means particularly heavy) closed down and barely touched my finger. However this was enough to put a small slice in the skin! Less than a minute after opening the box and I had "bonded" with it! You'll know what I mean if you get one and close it one handed. Handle material and design is not going to appeal to everyone but I like it. Personally I would have liked the handle to be a little longer for my XL hands. Maybe I need to ask HH if they will supply the XL version! Great knife, , very tough and you know you can do crazy stuff with a knife from Lynn Thompson without it failing on you.
