Great value
I wanted a lightweight and less intimidating outdoor knife to support my outdoor work supervising young people on modest expeditions and camping, as well as my own trips. For my use I didn't need to spend much and after reading many positive reviews I ordered the Finn Lite. It really is great value, with a decent carbon steel blade and nicely finished wooden scales that on my example, are totally flush with the tang. It grips well and feels good in the hand. The knife came razor sharp but with a bit of a burr, which was easy to delete with a strop. I have already used it to shave and split some tinder to get our woodburner going in the recent chilly weather and tried it to prep some veg for cooking at home as I intend to use it for camp meals too. It did both tasks really well. I have some Tsubaki oil to look after the blade, which is important for carbon steel and ok with food. I really like the sheath in most respects but think the leather is a bit thin and prone to flex, so you need to be careful when placing the knife in, so as not to pierce it. I will try to stiffen it with beeswax, I was tempted to drop it half a star for that but it really is such brilliant value overall that I am very happy.
