Boker Plus Little Dvalin Tanto Fixed Blade 18

Get it!!!!! If you like a tanto then get this. 3" blade & your lil finger will wrap behind the handle so it's not big but does feel it. Blade phatt as all heck & when I got a ceramic rod on it it got crazy sharp even for a phatt 4$$ blade. I got the MM Freya after this as I wanted another 3" phatt blade but in S30v. The dvalin is better fit & finish even if not better steel. You can also pay $10 on the Midgards site & they send you a program to 3D print your own handles for this. So if you've got a 3D printer or know a shop then U can hav different colour scales printed (first I looked for was camel/tan which would look awesome with the black blade imo)

Was looking at this for a while before getting it. Apart from the usual Boker belt clip ridiculousness the edge of the blade was chipped in a few places. Don't know if my one slipped past QC or they are all like this. Not what i expected straight out of the box.

Excellent blade and great for bushcraft use

If you’re a fan of Midgards messer’s then you cannot pass this up. It might be Böker plus which are still a fantastic company in their own right but this piece is made for the by Midgards messer! It has all the elements of a MM knife the beefy thickness of the blade the fantastic spot on blade grind not to mention the edge that will indeed surprise a lot of you in how damn sharp it actually is for such a thick blade. The fit and finish alone on this piece will definitely make an excellent impact on you. If you pay attention to the size and it’s not a massive knife by any means but the presence it gives you in hand makes it feel like you’re holding a blade of twice it’s size plus if you ever need to pry something you are more than covered with this piece. Highly recommended even if you only ever step into this sort of thick blade world once. This is one you will never regret remembering it’s SIZE.

Quality shines thru on every level

Blown away by this. It’s a chubby beast, and incredibly well made. Short and stubby, but fantastic proportions. While the handle looks short, it fits perfectly in the hand, is well balanced and looks and feels bombproof. Superb attention to detail, and razor sharp. Great sheath and belt clip too. This is one hell of a piece of kit for the money. Highly recommended, and will pick up a drop point when they come back in stock too.

Had a few reservations after reading mixed reviews from some of the early runs of this knife but all appear to have been addressed with the knife & sheath I received. In short, it’s phenomenal! Blade and sheath alone weigh 196g, and I’d personal match this up to a better grade belt clip if that’s your thing. Scout carries nicely with some pull the dot loops. Was concerned the micro jimping would be too aggressive, however they have quite the opposite effect. They are so closely spaced that they smooth out the jimping to feel more like that of a coin edge. My second worry was that the handle length would be too short for my large hands, but again this was perfectly designed to be wrapped securely by all 4 fingers without extending beyond the base of your palm. Love D2 and it comes plenty sharp OTB. Super easy to perfect a screaming edge with very little extra honing. The sheath is outstanding! Made from the thinner sheets of kydex and form fitted for tight blade retention. Easy enough to thumb-push off the sheath and draw one handed. Give the knife and scales a quick spray down with some oil and the sheath loosens up perfectly with no additional adjustments required. I already own the drop point model of this knife and the G10 scales are again great and perfectly aligned, however the tanto version which I received has one deep 15mm scratch curling along one side of the scales. Thankfully this minor assembly scar was greatly subdued with a heavy polishing from a Cape Cod cloth. This is still an excellent compact tanto despite the above minor cosmetic flaw and I’m sure this was just bad luck more than anything. With this being used as a utility knife I’m sure this won’t be the last scar it picks up with some heavy abuse ahead. Fuller lends itself nicely to a choked up pinch grip. Solid, compact utility knife and an absolute steal at this price point.

This is a lovely solid little knife . Fit and Finish on the knife were spot on with even grinds and it was razor sharp out of the box. I had no problems at all with the sheath. It fits securely with a nice snap and you can pop it off fine with a sensible amount of thumb pressure. The knife fits nicely in the hand in a three fingered grip. It is quite a small knife but has unusually thick blade stock for a knife of that length. This makes it feel very strong and capable despite its size. Highly recommended.

The first time i put the knife in the sheath it got stuck. Had to use a heater to get it out and ended up cutting myself. After reading some other reviews it's a common problem. The knife itself is solid, chunky and sharp out the box
