Crtslim folder
In principle this should be a really nice knife, it is well made with very nice machined bolsters, and the ends have a very crisp look, that are well finished, as with all Boker knives. The blade does not show at all above the body of the knife, and this looks lovely but produces a problem as to how to lever the blade out of the body to use it. It has some jimping on the hinge end I think that the idea is to exert enough pressure on it either with one's forefinger or fingernail. However this rarely works well and I end up pulling the blade out a bit then using central fugal force to flip it open. This defeats the purpose of it in being a nice clean lined gentleman's folder. Once open it clicks into place with a satisfying sound, and is very sharp indeed when opening envelopes for example with pleasurable ease. The blade is thin and so would not be up to any heavy tasks, but it nevertheless feels very sturdy and secure. I really enjoy mine, and it has made cutting paper a pleasure not a chore. I would highly recommend it to anyone who can write off the cost for what amounts to a very high performance letter opener. It has a delicate yet strong feel ****************************** I would highly recommend this knife for letter opening or any task that was relatively delicate but required a long, strong, very sharp blade.
