The Boker Plus Rocket has been a firm favourite of knife fans for a while now and with good reason. It is a handsome little knife with a great deal of character and even more usability.

This brand new version has had the Heinnie Haynes® treatment, which means it has the famous red handle, is non-locking so UK legal carry, is numbered on the back spine and has the Heinnie® 'H' on the back of the handle. Everything else is the same, compact, "unputdownable" design and a gap for a neck chain or lanyard.

The knives are individually numbered, but we're not able to pick out a particular number for you, sorry.

Pretty is the only word to describe it

Posted by Ben Huggett on 7th Sep 2020

I really like the Rocket. It's absolutely miniscule. Miniscule to the point where I've accidentally taken it to places where I shouldn't have a knife on several occasions.
Whenever I use it someone asks a question about it. The fact that it's red makes it stand out quite a lot. But then it's so tiny that you could easily keep it hidden if you wanted to.
The folding mechanism is decidedly a one handed operation. It really satisfyingly has a halfway stop and the snapping noise it makes when it locks into this, and the fully exposed position are great.
The knife clearly isn't going to be of much use for heavy duty tasks - but then it was never built for that. If you want something to open boxes, cut ropes or just something in your pocket on the off chance you encounter a stubborn banana that won't open (closer to the truth than you might think) then this is the knife for you. I'd fall short of calling it flimsy, but it's certainly not rugged. The pivot does have some flex, but then it's only a one-sided pivot so I feel that's to be expected.
Now, the steel. It's 440c which is fine for a pocket folder. It holds an edge reasonably well and you can get it decently sharp. However, for whatever reason it seems to rust like anything. I've got other 440c knives and have never had them go as easily as this. I'm on my third replacement at the moment because they seem to keep rusting in the thumb groove where I can't get rid of it. I'm not new to knives in any way and generally take very good care of them, but this lil guy is pretty fragile. Worth noting that Heinnie have been outstanding in replacing the knives, and acknowledging that this seems pretty common with these blades.
It's a fun little folder and absolutely starts conversations! Make sure you take good care of it and fingers crossed you won't encounter any rusting!

    Bijou knife, love it!

Posted by Oli on 20th Aug 2020

Received today so super fast 24h delivery fron HH which is always appreciated.

The Rocket is barely bigger than a USB stick but is very functional. Well finished, sharp and the lateral spring system works OK just do not go for heavy duty tasks to keet safe. It opens and closes one handed thanks to the large groove in the blade... Closing does require a bit of practice not to get your fingers caught!

NO sure yet where it fits... Maybe around the neck in a tiny pouch, definitely not on a keyring to avoid grub and scratches.

Beautifully designed object if a bit of a novelty item.

    Solid little knife

Posted by Moth on 3rd Aug 2020

Love what hennie has done with the rocket. Its original locking form put me off buying one. So seeing a hennie special one with UK legal carry had me heading straight for the shopping cart. Nice little knife, you forget you have it most of the time. Edge retention seems good, glad of the half stop when folding one handed ! As it gives me opportunity to get my fingertips out of the way ! There is a slight risk of this being open on one side.
The blade is quite thick for a knife of this size ! But it gives you confidence in what you think it can do.

    Don't like the handle

Posted by Sam on 1st Aug 2020

The blade is well made, strong and very practical, but with the handle, it just feels unsafe in my hands, especially when closing it and I feel if the handle was longer, it could be a lot better. For someone with small hands, this could be brilliant, but I wouldn't want a child to learn with it.

For me personallly, this is a 2 star knife, but I've given it 3 because for the right person, it could be wonderful

Useful little fidget and a great price

Posted by Jonathan on 18th Jul 2020

For those little everyday tasks this hits the spot and is great for the money. Fits well out the way in a coin pocket or on a keychain. Unusual design and difficult to put down as the action is a bit addictive! Steel is just fine for what you'll do with it and it's very sharp from the box. Fit and finish is great as per all my other Bökers.

    Perfectly non-scary!

Posted by MarkCX on 15th Jul 2020

I loved this little blade. I say loved because my teenage daughter has stolen it. She always disliked the my First Victorinox I gave her, only because of the sprung closure of the blade - otherwise it’s excellent. But she loves this little knife. At a glance it just looks like a USB stick and is non-scary in every way, with a decent blade.

    Quality on a small scale

Posted by ACRT on 3rd Jul 2020

Fabulous little knife - extremely tactile, the scale is lovely and the motion of the blade is oily smooth and addictive, like a slick gear change - I can't stop fiddling with it!
A perfect size for the coin pocket in your jeans - my new go-to edc knife (well, on rotation with my Spyderco).
    Highly recommended!

Thumb drive sized non locking folder

Posted by vice on 3rd Jun 2020

Superb little EDC folder, inoffensive and perfect for public/office use.

Looked at the Rocket in the past but always seemed a bit pricey and it's locking. When I saw this Heinnie edition pop up in the new items section it immediately grabbed my attention. After seeing the price it went straight into the basket.

It's not going to handle any heavy duty tasks, but it's perfectly adequate for opening letters, parcels and packages and has smooth one handed opening thanks to 2 phosphor bronze washers.

Arrived in the usual quality B¶ker Plus presentation box with magnetic lid as well as a disassembly tool. The red G10 scale is visually appealing against the satin finish and fits easily in watch/coin pocket. Factory sharp, but found a small issue with the grind towards the tip but nothing that can't be sorted.

Overall very happy with this product, great value for money and would recommend.

    Heinnie service perfect as usual.
