The Boker Plus Rocket has been a firm favourite of knife fans for a while now and with good reason. It is a handsome little knife with a great deal of character and even more usability.

This brand new version has had the Heinnie Haynes® treatment, which means it has the famous red handle, is non-locking so UK legal carry, is numbered on the back spine and has the Heinnie® 'H' on the back of the handle. Everything else is the same, compact, "unputdownable" design and a gap for a neck chain or lanyard.

The knives are individually numbered, but we're not able to pick out a particular number for you, sorry.

Certainly an interesting minimalist design. The blade wasn't very sharp though.

    Boker Rocket

Posted by Zed on 14th Jan 2021

First off super fast delivery as usual from HH even in these situations,,hats off guys as it's one of many reasons a lot of us shop here lol, next the Rocket, I've been looking at Darriel Castons stuff for a while, it's not mu usual style as I generally prefer traditional slipjoints made with traditional materials , but I liked the concept of his early salvation dog tag model but sadly way out of my price range, so in flys the Rocket (pun intended lol) it's a very compact design, great for on your keys or attached to a small torch and thrown in your pocket, very smooth action, its basically got a ball detent for locking it open and closed, has a satisfying click, so fun to open and close, just watch the meat of your hand as obviously a open frame design, my only gripe and reason I've given this 4 instead if 5 is due to the sharp point on the rear of the handle that press into your hand while opening it , I personally used a diamond file from my leatherman to remove the points but I really think Boker should do this , but this isnt a hard use knife but handy for small cutting chores , this takes me onto the grinds , there off, this isnt a chisel grind as you might think , it's got both bevels, but oddly it slopes at the point and at rear rear of the grind? Darriel's is a straight edge ? So I dont know why Boker did this as straight would be easier to manufacturer and sharpen, plus uneven grind at the point and the rear , shame but fir this price I can live with it . All in all a fun little knife and great at small tasks day to day and people friendly.

    My first Boker

Posted by Adam S on 2nd Dec 2020

This is very small and compact and easy for an everyday carry and completely UK legal. I've been carrying out for a few weeks now and would recommend it if you're looking for a light blade to keep in your pocket for the small simple jobs

The best value keyring knife I can find!

Posted by Daniel on 1st Oct 2020

I bought this as an upgrade from my cheap little coin knife I kept on my keyring for years and it's one hell of an upgrade! Style wise it's striking yet still some what eligent and has even gotten compliments from people when they've seen me using it. Functionally it's almost perfect from the sharp blade to the positive feedback when opening and closing it, the only downside I can think of is the same striking sharp lines and corners can become uncomfortable after a sustained period of extended use but for its intended purpose this shouldn't be an issue. Overall I can whole heartedly recommend it if you are looking for a knife to go on your keys!

Pretty is the only word to describe it

Posted by Ben Huggett on 7th Sep 2020

I really like the Rocket. It's absolutely miniscule. Miniscule to the point where I've accidentally taken it to places where I shouldn't have a knife on several occasions. Whenever I use it someone asks a question about it. The fact that it's red makes it stand out quite a lot. But then it's so tiny that you could easily keep it hidden if you wanted to. The folding mechanism is decidedly a one handed operation. It really satisfyingly has a halfway stop and the snapping noise it makes when it locks into this, and the fully exposed position are great. The knife clearly isn't going to be of much use for heavy duty tasks - but then it was never built for that. If you want something to open boxes, cut ropes or just something in your pocket on the off chance you encounter a stubborn banana that won't open (closer to the truth than you might think) then this is the knife for you. I'd fall short of calling it flimsy, but it's certainly not rugged. The pivot does have some flex, but then it's only a one-sided pivot so I feel that's to be expected. Now, the steel. It's 440c which is fine for a pocket folder. It holds an edge reasonably well and you can get it decently sharp. However, for whatever reason it seems to rust like anything. I've got other 440c knives and have never had them go as easily as this. I'm on my third replacement at the moment because they seem to keep rusting in the thumb groove where I can't get rid of it. I'm not new to knives in any way and generally take very good care of them, but this lil guy is pretty fragile. Worth noting that Heinnie have been outstanding in replacing the knives, and acknowledging that this seems pretty common with these blades. It's a fun little folder and absolutely starts conversations! Make sure you take good care of it and fingers crossed you won't encounter any rusting!

    Bijou knife, love it!

Posted by Oli on 20th Aug 2020

Received today so super fast 24h delivery fron HH which is always appreciated. The Rocket is barely bigger than a USB stick but is very functional. Well finished, sharp and the lateral spring system works OK just do not go for heavy duty tasks to keet safe. It opens and closes one handed thanks to the large groove in the blade... Closing does require a bit of practice not to get your fingers caught! NO sure yet where it fits... Maybe around the neck in a tiny pouch, definitely not on a keyring to avoid grub and scratches. Beautifully designed object if a bit of a novelty item.

    Solid little knife

Posted by Moth on 3rd Aug 2020

Love what hennie has done with the rocket. Its original locking form put me off buying one. So seeing a hennie special one with UK legal carry had me heading straight for the shopping cart. Nice little knife, you forget you have it most of the time. Edge retention seems good, glad of the half stop when folding one handed ! As it gives me opportunity to get my fingertips out of the way ! There is a slight risk of this being open on one side. The blade is quite thick for a knife of this size ! But it gives you confidence in what you think it can do.
