    A Wright Ebony sheepfoot knife

Posted by RJMoore on 6th Dec 2024

I own a few A Wright knives and every now and then the finish is not 100% but then consider they are not £100 knives. This particular knife arrived well finished, the blade was centred and sharp , it has a strong snap. The brass and red liners complement the nicely finished ebony scales and for the price point it would be hard to beat. Superfast service from HH as usual

The bad bits,Really bad centering and a dull uneven grind,Both easily rectified,Spring cut off looks like it has been bitten off and probably the worst A Wright i've ever see and i own 12.The Good bits:The rest of the Knife,Zero gaps with super smooth transitions twixt Pins and Bolsters,Half stop is a winner along with the Red liners and pull maybe a 7,Despite the silly faults i love it,Takes 2 Seconds to centre the Blade and they really need to sort the Back Spring cut off out hence the 4 Star rating,I'm happy with it and for 40 Quid yeah it's worth it,Sort the Grind and Spring cut off and you have a 100 Quid Knife all Day,Would i buy another...Yes i would.

    Defective

It's a fantastic little knife, bought several of them direct from Wrights, 2 have even gone across the Atlantic. The action is VERY stiff. I would reccomend.
