Originally designed from the Finnish Sami knife, used by the Laplanders for all their hunting and bushcraft tasks, Scandi grind knives have traditionally been flat ground, single or double sided, with a "zero-ground" edge.The Mini Scandi was a result of the very popular, original Brothers of Bushcraft (BOB) knife. It occurred to Leo Espinoza, who designed the Mini Scandi, that a good idea is still a good idea in a smaller package. Obviously not to be used for serious shelter building, although I tried but soon gave up and used a pocket hand chainsaw. The profile is probably narrow enough to process pigeon or fish, The spine won't create a decent spark but that's why you have strikers. I love the knife but I can't think what I'd use it for in a bushcraft setting. I'd carry it as a last ditch survival knife though.
One thing that American knife manufacturers get right is consistent quality, the finish on this product both knife and sheath is superb. I was looking to reduce the weight of one of my packs and one way obviously is to reduce the amount of steel you carry, this knife is certainly small and light but I’m totally confident that it will be able to handle any realistic task I put it to.

As stated , it's a small "sami" knife. A rugged "Scandi" grind. Really strong and useful. Just get rid of the silly chain it comes with. Add a paracord for your neck ..... And a grapevine knot. This is not an * knife. It is a true, small survival, bushcraft knife.
