The handle is comfortable the razor is great, so what's the problem some fool has added a second bevel which makes it very difficult to resharpen, I've tried and for someone not used to re-profiling razors makes it unusable. You can see the second bevel in the photos at the top of the listing, wrecked a great razor.
This is really beautifully made item, I have paid 4 times the price for razors built half as well as this. However, there is almost zero chance this blade will ever be sharp enough to shave with. The edge that is on it has been ground on a belt linisher and unfortunately the amount of material you’d need to remove to get anywhere near to a real edge again makes it nothing more than an ornament. It’s not worth the wear on my stones to try and salvage. It would have been 100% better if they supplied it un-sharpened. Then it would have made an excellent project blade and I would have given it 10 out of 10!
This is an attractively put together novelty pocket knife in the shape of a straight razor. There is no practical possibility of it ever getting a shaveable edge, because the spine is about half the thickness it needs to be to deliver the correct honing angle when laid down on a stone - just for starters. I'm keeping mine because I like the vibe and it's useful for opening letters.
This isn't a straight razor. It's just a pocket knife in the shape of a straight razor. I suspect that anyone thinking this is a cut throat razor has never seen one. Treat yourself to a Dovo Inox to see what I mean. A razor should be sharp enough to "pop" hairs that are dropped on it from above. This will never achieve that sharpness, it's just a pocket knife. I know reviews here NEVER criticise HH, but of my last few orders I've had this non-razor, a knife that was sold as legal carry...but wasn't and a trail running head torch for which the description gave the weight without the integral battery (it was actually more than 50% heavier, which matters when running 20km). Sort it out HH. Don't take your customers for fools or for granted.
Very happy with my order.
Excellent knife, well finished
It looks feels and sits in the hand really nice the quality is spot on I can't fault it.
OK once sharpened.
