Description

Part of the legend of the Gerber name is their ever-expanding list of special use knives.

The Gerber E-Z Out Rescue is a prime example. Designed for scenarios when you need to cut without risk of poking or puncturing adjacent surfaces such as someone's flesh.

This knife can be seen clipped on the pockets of search rescue types. The blunt tip will do no harm. Yet the wickedly serrated blade will cut through stuff like crazy. It's fast, efficient, and effective.

The bright yellow handle is made of super-strong thermoplastic that's reinforced with fiberglass. And those black rubber inserts you see? That's a material called Kraton, which was engineered in for extra gripping performance.

    Perfect for it's designed purpose

Posted by Steven on 19th May 2019

I have had one of these for over 10 years now as a sailing knife. Let me just say this. This is not a premium folder with bearings or any special materials. It is a very simple folder with lightweight frame and scales. Whist the blade might not be a particular hard steel, it's easy to sharpen and being serrated, doesn't actually require much care. It lives in my buoyancy aid and has been left wet and then forgotten for over a year, No rust! Its light, it's bright and with a Cork tied on it floats! Its designed to cut rope, not trees so if you use it for its intended purpose it's fantastic!
