The Japanese Knife Maker Kansei Matsuno is a true master of his trade and his designs certainly show a unique style. From the outset, Boker loved the skilful combination of Japanese style elements and features of a modern gentleman's pocketknife and soon became a valued item in their product line.
The slender build and lightweight construction of the Boker Plus Wasabi complement the straightforward design and classic Japanese blade to make an elegant everyday knife. The blade with ball bearings can be opened via the extended tang and is kept open as a slipjoint with a detent ball. The blade is made of reliable 440C, the handle stainless liners and milled clip with scales of exclusive Cocobolo.

Very flimsy. Wood not great quality - so overall disappointing
Lovely EDC knife
Smart little knife for everyday use with great flipper action. Stripped cleaned and lubed the bearing that helped make the action really smooth. Classy looking blade that can be held in a safe position by a thumb when open. Like this one a lot and has a good fidget factor albeit putting too much pressure on the pocket clip when flipping can loosen it a little.
I purchased this knife some time ago and have just come across it in my box again and wished I could carry it again but I can't. If you carry this in a trouser pocket in my experience it will hook on things and get pulled out of your pocket I was very lucky I kept finding it again. The last time I carried this it hooked on my seatbelt getting out of the car and when being dragged out of my pocket it has ripped out one of the screws for the clip stripping it. It's painful as I like the knife as it weighs nothing , slices like a kitchen knife, looks good and has excellent one hand opening. In conclusion if youre going to carry it in an inside jacket pocket or shirt pocket this is a very nice slicey knife. If you want to carry it in your trousers it'll likely get hooked on something and you'll never see it again or you'll damage it
First, the problem: When the knife is closed, the blade edge is virtually flush with the side of the handle. As this is an open frame design, you have only to slide your finger (or whatever) against the handle's edge and you receive a cut, only 1-2mm deep, but nasty enough to bleed profusely. Problem dealt with, everything else about the Wasabi is just gorgeous. It's a design thing, and this creation is so darned perfect in its proportions that it's like a traditional Japanese garden. Even the clip (and I don't like clips) is a little work of art. The mechanism works beautifully too, with a nice snap and balance. It's not designed for heavy or even robust work, but as a light duty slicer it performs excellently. The blade is effective - I hadn't realised 440C steel was this good. The cocobolo looks classy, and I've no doubt it works equally well in the other finishes. If it wasn't for the hazardous closed-blade issue, I'd be trying to find a way of giving this little beauty six stars! As it is, I will just have remember to be careful how I handle this knife, or possibly fashion a guard-piece of some kind, because this Wasabi is a keeper.
Very clean fit & finish (innerly polished !), no lateral play at all, interesting design, very good blade profile ( slightly hollow grind plus reinforced tip !), featherlight and a functional and practical pocket clip ! At this price, it's an exceptional buy. A slightly bigger version would be a treat !
Really like the blade shape and length maximised for uk. Ideal for cutting apples, which to be honest is what I do most of with my edc! Came sharp. Great one hand fli*ping. The ball detent helps it spring open. Quality feels good. It is light weight. I wander if carbon fibre whould be better as it is already so fly weight. In the wood I think I'd have liked it a little heavier. Clip has good spring on it. Like the bottom lanyard hole as can put a lanyard thru with a mini mini clip to secure to my keys. All in all like it. Will be my edc preferred over my spyderco come pingo and CRKT mah..
Don't know if I'd carry it as an EDC, but it's UK friendly, reasonable steel for the price and sharp enough for most people out of the box. Stellar service from HH as usual as they ordered this for me Recommended as a everyday use with an easy front flip*er and good detent to hold open. Single-handed open and close and UK Legal, what's not to like?
