    Buck 744 Sovereign Carbon Folder

Posted by Gary Ralph on 15th Apr 2025

Nice looking knife! Love my BUCK 110 and 119. Great pieces. So, wanted something different from their range. Went for this one. Good sized, very sharp, black oxide coated clip point blade. Sounds like the BOS heat treatment has made this a very strong and tough knife. I like the look and shaping of the carbon fibre graphic steel handle. Good thumb studs and nice little pocket clip. Lovely solid finish to it all. The button lock works well and all feels pretty smooth. Buck has made another impressive knife. I've seen comments that the knife is heavy. I agree it's got a bit of weight behind it. Who hasn't, lol? I don't agree. It's decent in hand. They need to eat more weetabix. Really pleased I've got 3 different styles by the same maker. Cracking knives fairplay. Hennie Haynes continue to deliver fantastic service.

Good quality knife but a little heavy.

This is a good quality knife for the price and I really like the button lock system. However, the steel used for the handle material does make it feel rather heavy for its size. I own larger Buck models that are lighter due to having plastic furniture.
