Very basic
I like mini pry bars and thought I would take a pint on this one as it is quite reasonably priced. It comes in a nice cardboard box with a cleaning cloth, with the tool wrapped in waxed paper. I was initially quite disappointed, the tool has a forge burned finish and appeared to be coated in a bit of old engine oil. I washed the oil off but the charred finish continued to come off on my fingers. The jimping is very sharp and uncomfortable. In the end I took a bit of carbide paper and rubbed off the blacking, which gave a much nicer almost stonewash finish, I then buffed this with a bit of autosol. The carbide paper was also used to blunt the sharp edges a bit. It comes with a Solomon bar lanyard which I replaced with a paracord lanyard. The carbide paper also took the writing off, which suits as I don’t want “knife company” written on an EDC item. I now have an item I like. I quite enjoyed improving it as a micro project. To be honest some might like the rough finish but they would probably sell more if they had a polished finish. The tip of the pry bar is not particularly sharp, which I like and you could easily thin it if you wanted a sharper end.
