This is a classic for a reason: the design is pretty well perfect, and the ergonomics are sublime. It is lightweight, but feels really robust. Also, I didn't know what sharp was, until I used this blade!
Absolutely great knife. In my opinion if you have a proper work reason for a lock knife outside of the home you absolutely can't go wrong with any of the Delica 4 variations for the UK. Right size, right look, right functionality, right everything, it's a total Goldilocks knife for the UK. I got the serrated version of the Delica 4 and I also got the serrated Para 3 lightweight. In my opinion the Delica 4 in VG10 is better than the Para 3 lightweight in CTS BD1N and twenty odd quid cheaper. See my review of the Para 3 lightweight. They are kind of similar, arguably the Para 3 lightweight is (sort of) a fancier redesigned Delica in many ways but the Delica is still tops. and always will be. Thirty odd years of history and continued development just make it a great all round medium small locknife for all round daily use. Buy one, especially if you're not into knives as such and it's basically going to be your only knife.
Over the years I've had about a dozen spyderco's and they have been a bit hit and miss. My favourite without question is the Squeak, lovely quality, everything about it is just right, and i can tell already that this delica is going to be just as good. Solid little knife, nice steel good handle. My only gripe and its not really a gripe is that i personally prefer the wire pocket clip and it if had one it would be perfection. Lastly nice straight square back edge for fastening into a sharpening jig.
love this knife as good as it gets buy one wont regret it trust me
I ordered this after being dismayed by the quality of a Boker Plus blade, and I am delighted with it (and the service from HH). Highly recommended, particularly if you appreciate good quality design, steel, manufacture and ergonomics (and are happy to pay for it).
Owned this blade for 24 Hrs so no kind of long term review. But, for the money, this is a very light weight, very sharp and hard working knife. Cut through a 150mm twin wall pipe today and upset all the lads who had been using a full on timber saw. They'd take a couple of minutes, it'd take barely 5 seconds... Very nice blade! Looks "cheap" enough that nobody would bother stealing it. Covered in cr** and mud, it washed right off and now looks new again. Now I don't give a damn for cosmetics, but I've owned a few knives (Cold steel/ Buck etc', etc', etc') This is right up there. It weighs nothing and is slim enough to keep checking it's even there in your pocket, first day out. It gets my vote!
What a fantastic knife. Sharp out of the box, comfortable in the hand, fast deployment, who needs an assisted knife when you have a delica? Usual great service from H/H
I've had the fully serrated version of the Delica for near 25 years now and it is still going strong, although I have allowed it some spare time nowadays. Cuts anything sensible without complaint, but the serrations do limit it use. The combo is a far better all rounder. But for a lightweight knife this is a true heavyweight performer.
Good allrounder lightweight and sharp as a razor. A nice change from my redpoint buck knife.
