The Schrade F37 Micarta fixed blade is a well priced, very solid knife. It features a striking black and white micarta-style handle scales, bolted strongly to the full tang handle with sturdy hex-bolts. The F36 is a smaller version of the F37.
The drop point blade is black-coated 8Cr13MoV stainless and the feature which stands out when this blade is in the hand is the sheer weight of the knife. The steel is a good 5mm thick from front of the blade right through to the lanyard hole in the handle. One feels that this is not a tool to let you down.
In both F36 and F37, the top of the handle is heavily knurled on the metal, but not the micarta of the handle, allowing good, strong purchase to be applied to the task at hand. The same knurling is present beneath the handle.
The knife is supplied with a basic nylon non-MOLLE sheath with a 5cm belt loop, and securing lace. A good bit of kit for the money.
