The Fällkniven LTC (Legal to Carry) is a neat pen-knife which you can easily carry in your pocket. In order to conform to knife laws Fällkniven have deliberately designed this folding knife to feature all the elements required to enable the user to carry the knife in most environments. This means that the blade lacks a conventional blade locking device (yet is still held in place by a steady spring), that the blade is short and narrow ( under 7.6cm – 3 inches) and that it cannot be unfolded with one hand. These results in a friendly carry penknife.

The quality remains the same as with any other Fällkniven knife. They have spared no expense when it comes to the blade quality for instance. Becoming the first in the world to introduce a penknife with a blade in their now famous laminate powder steel 3G! The blade has grooves on both sides of the blade, making it useable for both right and left handers. The LTC is presented in several attractive colours and is supplied in a solid wood gift box inspired by traditional wooden pencil cases.

    Quality control issues

Posted by Peter on 5th Aug 2019

While I am sure it would hold a very good edge, I was very dissapointed with this knife.

One of the rivets sticks out further than the others and at a slight angle meaning it would catch on your pocket.

The blade wasnt smooth when opening and felt like it was scraping against something. Maybe due to the angle of the rivet.

For a knife of this size costing £86, I would expect the fit and finish to be perfect, not inferior to a swiss army knife.

    Fantastic (but now quite pricey)

Posted by Stu on 18th May 2018

Had my LTC for about a year now. Its an extremely simple "old fashioned" pocket knife, with a very high quality blade - which keeps its edge fantastically well.

The fit and finish on mine is flawless and the orange finish has held up very well so far. Because of the design, colour and size it doesnt attract any attention when i use it in public. The blade is very tight and secure when in use, but folds away easily enough.

Its certainly a "knife for life" which is what the premium price reflects. The packaging is lovely, and its nice to drop it back into its little wooden box when its taking a break.

As another reviewer commented, im surprised that there arent any Fallkniven markings on the scales or blade - but i'd be surprised if it was made by a third party given the overall quality.

    Fallkniven LTC

Posted by John on 23rd Apr 2018

Very disappointed with the poor quality of this knife. Fallkniven usually of the very best standard, but this one isn't. Unusually there are no Fallkniven markings on it, so I wonder whether its actually made by them.

Heinnie Haynes are, as always, excellent though.

    BOMBPROOF

Very very solid little knife. Anyone wanting a traditional style, legal to carry penknife thats really built, then look no further, tank like construction and a 3G blade. I should imagine the design won't be to everyones taste, but what you are getting for the price , is what makes it such a good little knife. Highly recommended.

    Perfect

Posted by Jake on 11th Oct 2016

I bought a cheap penknife for EDC to see if I would actually use and need one.
I used it a lot more than I thought but the blade dulled quickly (though I enjoyed sharpening it) so decided to spoil myself with a decent EDC with a better steel.
I wanted it small, light, inoffensive, good quality and gentlemanly. Plus not so expensive that I'd be scared to use it. I'd looked around quite a lot online but it was hard to find what I was looking for.
The Fallkniven LTC looked good in an article on this site, so I researched it a bit and decided to get one.
I ordered the LTC in black online at 3pm and it was somehow in my postbox at 9am the next morning.
It's the perfect size for me, and smaller and lighter In the flesh than it looks online.
It fits quietly in the hand and pocket, slim and lightweight and it looks good, simple and smart, understated.
It's sharp and opens and closes with a nice snap.
It has a nice slim, short blade and a feel of a quality penknife about it.
It's very nice to use I'm really happy with it.

    Go on treat yourself!

Arrived next day on standard delivery from Wales to the West Country ....impressive service from Heinnie.

First impression...this knife is understated, robust and elegant. It's got a quality feel without trying to be perfect. The premium steel is always going to deliver a great edge and a knife like this is going to accompany you pretty much anywhere for years. Go on treat yourself!

    gorgeous

Posted by Lells on 7th Jul 2016

I bought the sky blue version and its gorgeous. Didn't have any of the problems few others have had with mis-alignment, mine was perfect. Wasn't super sharp out of the box (literally - it comes in a wooden box) but couple of runs on the Ken Onion Workshop and it was razor like. Only criticism is i would have preferred a simple soft leather sheath than a box!

    Excellent

Posted by WJ on 6th Jun 2016

A great small pocket knife. I am favouring small pocket knives moire and more as my EDC and this one is really rather good. Very high quality fit and finish. A beautiful small pen blade, very sharp out of the box. A simple design but really elegant. My only two negative points is that the nail nick is very close the the blade so it is hard to open if you have really short nails. I have had mine for a couple of weeks and the coloured coating is already wearing a little.
Not cheap, but you do have to pay for quality and this is a quality knife.

    Light Tough Coloured: Green

Iron fist in a velvet glove

Very nice little knife. Small and lightweight but tough and extremely sharp laminated blade. It shouldn't break under normal use. As always with my EDC knives I carry this one in my Jeans front pocket via a home made dedicated pouch, hanging from the belt. Unobtrusive, but ready to use.

On par with the Spyderco Roadie, but better fit and finish (and more pricey...).

Top notch Heinnie service,as usual and much more... The knife (and another item) were stolen during the international delivery. HH took care of my problem and replaced them immediately. Very professional attitude.
