Without fear of exaggeration, the 303F along with the 303M are is quite possibly the best pocket stones out there. If you are tempted to lap the stones flat this will impact on their performance. I recommend not lapping these stones for maximum performance. Awesome products on all types of steel.

I don't normally write reviews but the last review is completely daft. This stone is probably the best pocket stone. I work with sharps all day long, either making tools or using them. I have 2 meter 3M Cubitron and Trizact belts, diamond and japanese stones galore but this little thing is a gem and is used on everything from wood carving knives to plane blades . It has been used every day for years...highly recommended.

Apply some chromium oxide stropping compound to the smooth side of the stones sheath (wipe off excess) and after using the stone (while the stone is back in the sheath) finish strop the edge with the compound loaded sheath. Gentle is the key with little or virtually no pressure. Puts a final finishing razor edge on your knife!!!

Gives a great edge and it's sheer quality is outstanding. Excellent value and extremely easy to clean. I bought mine with an ultra fine stone and they work perfectly together. My entire collection of blades is now shaving sharp. Leather sheath is a very nice touch to.

This is a nice piece of kit if you like off-hand sharpening. It touches up edges on both carbon- and stainless steel knives, it cleans easily with a scouringpad and detergent. If you like a toothy edge this is a stone for you.

I bought one of these about 3 years ago. It clogged badly very quickly, has been near impossible to clean off and didn't even create much of an edge. Avoid. Go look at Lansky or the Sharpmaker instead..
