    Doctors knife

The knife is just what I was looking for in a folding pocket knife. I was particularly happy with the Damascus blade.

    Damascus Doctor's knife

Very nice knife in an impressive box but the blade is too highly polished to properly display the Damascus patterning. This has put me off purchasing the other Damascus RR knives - a pity.

ROUGH RIDER DOCTOR'S KNIFE CINNAMON STAG DAMASCUS

Posted by Ettienne on 29th Mar 2021

Needed sharpening upon unboxing to get it razor sharp. Damascus is not as pronounced as expected, but overall looks like a lovely edc, almost too pretty to edc, but for the price why not.

Rough rider doctors knife cinnamon stag Damascus

Nice sharp blade although the Damascus pattern is only lightly visible, handle grip is a little tacky / cheap looking . Reasonable value for the price.

    very sharp

blade comes very sharp from factory, too about 15/20 minutes to get it to a razor sharp using the lansky kit, very good cheap little pocket knife.

ROUGH RIDER DOCTOR'S KNIFE CINNAMON STAG DAMASCUS

Posted by Clive Lawrence on 14th Oct 2020

I purchased this knife as amongst other makes I have bought several Rough Rider knives from Heinnie in the past all of which I have found to be excellent value for money. This though is the first Rough Rider Damascus bladed knife I have encountered. Now to the reason I have only rated it at 4 stars. It has an excellent finish overall but is much smaller than I had expected. The main thing that disappointed me though was the Damascus patterning on the blade had been so heavily polished that unless you looked closely you wouldn't know it was a Damascus blade , whereas my other Damascus knife blades are far more detailed. Also there was a small chip on the sharpened edge of the blade which I will sharpen out. Now having said all this the the knife is still excellent value for money at £32.95 for a Damascus bladed knife and I'm pleased to add it too my collection. The usual unrivalled service from Heinnie of course. Clive.
