These stainless Opinel locking knives are an ideally sized pocket knife, perfect for all purposes - a true all rounder!

The blades lock using the Virobloc safety ring, which in addition to locking the blade in the open position for safety of use, now enables locking of the blade in the closed position for safety during carrying.

Opinel knife blades are made using steels with a high carbon content, which is what makes it possible to achieve the excellent hardness after heat treatment, guaranteeing the good strength of the cutting edge, resistance to wear and easy sharpening. Carbon has a low resistance to corrosion caused by moisture, which means that certain precautionary measures are necessary when using and storing the knives: we recommend that you avoid damp environments and that you dry and grease the blade after use.

    Opinel

Nice knife with a flexible blade. This one wasn't that sharp . Unusual for an opinel..a quick rub on the whetstone and it soon restored it Like all the stainless opinel knives it doesn't hold its edge as well as the carbon blades

    Can't fault it.

Posted by Aris on 27th Jul 2022

Bought it as a folding carving knife - though it is slim and s harp enough to be a fish filleting knife. A bit more flexible than your run of the mill Opinel - perhaps because of the length (I got the 15cm). Nice profile to the handle too.

    Opined Slimline. Beechwood

Posted by Peter on 2nd Mar 2022

My Son produces a wide variety of Charcuterie. He also keeps free range pigs. He is delighted with the pocket knife. The lovely wooden handle is a fusion of form and function. The blade just right for the endless uses it is put to. Amazingly sharp and keeping a good edge. Great for slicing up tastings of products. Light in the pocket and sturdy and safe with the rotational collate to use with confidence. It has replaced his Swiss Army Knife for most everyday jobs. I’d like to thank the EXCELLENT ADVICE that I was given by your Customer Services regarding the current U.K. Laws on owning and carrying a knife. To me it had become a bit of a Grey Area. It was expertly and patiently explained to me. Consequently I bought with total confidence and was able to bring my Lad up to date. A fair price for an excellent troop. Well packed and delivered very promptly to Cornwall. Thankyou.

    Appalling

Posted by tingting on 11th May 2019

Appalling knife. Blade so tight in the handle you would break a nail trying to open it and it doesn't "knock" open like the regular version. This is the bluntest new knife i have purchased, butter knife blunt and the fillet knife thin / flexible blade is not easy to sharpen. A totally useless knife, having used the regular opinels for many years this slimline is a huge disappointment. I use various regular #8's and #6's several times a week so im well used to them. Opinel shouldn't be selling them and im surprised at Heinnie's selling rubbish like this.

Classy knife at a bargain price.

Posted by Matthew on 28th Dec 2016

The Slimline Opinels are very stylish knives which look much more classy than the standard Opinel design. Build quality is good, as you would expect from this well regarded manufacturer. The blade is quite thin and has a slight flex making this a good food prep knife but not as good of an all rounder as the original Opinels. Overall a stylish, well made knife at a bargain price.
