Had a few condor blades and always am impressed by fit and form and quality of production Needed a big all round knife This fits the bill Doesn’t disappoint Did double duty on butchery tasks on some fallow deer cutting the big chunks Then used to cook and chop with then made feather sticks Great kit

    Excellant

I needed a functional knife for camping and hunting trips and this one fits the bill. Good, strong and I think nice looking functional knife , that out performs other knives in a higher price range. A great buy if you need a knife you are are planning to use and as noted above, actually it's a nice knife to look wise as well. Wonderful service as you would expect from Heinnie .

    A looker not a user

This knife looks great and feels great in the hand. It is fantastic at chopping wood. As long as you can be sure that the wood is just wood. It does not stand up to the hard use I expect of a knife in the field. After ten minutes use, a section of the edge about 1cm long had been folded back. I was clearing brambles and glanced off a pebble. If you want a knife that can withstand knocks, I recommend either the Marbles Jungle Bowie or the Condor Machete. I have used both of these blades intensively. I have used them for slashing, cutting, chopping. I have dug with them, I have attacked roots. Both blades have had the odd notch, but only after hard use and hitting stones. The Moonshiner had a section of edge fold back after a light blow. So, if you want a knife that looks good, the Moonshiner delivers. If you want a knife for hard use, the Marbles Jungle Bowie is about the same length, tougher, lighter and a whole lot cheaper, though the handle is nowhere near as good. Or buy the Condor Machete is about the same weight, but has a more comfortable handle, is cheaper, and has more of a reach so is better for slashing.

    Superb value

What a superb value for money knife. A beast of a blade, in the vein of Bark River and even Busse, not quite the same quality but at a mere fraction of the price. Amazing value, get one!

Very smart knife. Good choper right to the tip. Very good quality grind, gives you a Chance to slice meet as well as chopping wood! Love it!

    Initial impressions

Posted by mariobab on 18th Dec 2014

Basically, it bears a resemblance to a big butcher knife. Shaving sharp out of box, long comfortable (longer than one on Hudson Bay) handle, made from thinner stock, light in hand, even grind, sturdy leather sheath, non aggressive appearance, nice balance, as it appears, it would become my favourite camp knife. Great service from HH, as usual.
