TOPS Anaconda Tanto Fixed Blade

This review is for the 7B, which no longer appears on HH. But if the 7B is a guide, then the longer tanto version should be well worth the money. I brought the 7B as a chopper for woodland camping, instead of a dedicated axe. So far - with lockdown - i've only had the opportunity to use it to clear some invasive rhododendrons, and it worked perfectly - more comfortable than a hatchet - and exists in the middle ground between a knife and a machete - though obviously used a chainsaw on thicker trunks. The sheath isn't great, buts let's face it - this isn't a knife to be used around camp for the simpler of tasks. It's a dedicated chopper and baton knife and just like an axe, it's easier to just bury it in a log rather than constantly resheathing. I think a kydex sheath would actually be a hindrance for such a substantial tool.

Wanted this since it came out many moons ago, not being full of money it took a while to justify getting (my wife convinced me to get it as i always say i dont want anything for birthdays or christmas) i can chop, poke and carve with it, i couldnt design a better knife myself, fantastic. Well I have just received this beast today and delivery was spot on from HH. I may well return at a later time to review the knife after I have put it to use in the field. However, it is quite clear that it will function well above what is needed away from a military standpoint. As usual, the picture cannot do it justice. Buy one!

I liked the look of this knife from my first view and the reviews are indeed correct in rating the knife very highly. I am extremely pleased with both the service and the item. A real heavyweight....fantastic!

My favourite TOPS creation and one of the best fixed blades I've seen. It passes my "sharp, pointy and tough" criteria with lots of room to spare. The death of the knifes designer is a real loss, this is a unique item. Service from HH was superb as usual.

Heinnie ordered this in specially for me and I'm not disappointed. Massive knife, 660g and very long, yet suprisingly controlable.The angle of the handle in relation to the blade increases chopping power but what is really well thought out is that the balance is actually at the choil which makes close work incredibley manageable for such a large blade.What looks like the shortest saw back ever on a knife is actually a wire cutter,you never know!One critisism would be cheap plastic insert in sheath, which isn't really a problem as you'll never have it in there as you'll be too busy admiring such a fine piece of steel.The designer of this blade very sadly died last month. His legacy could help you out in most situations I feel.
