Scandinoff Nordic Protector 130 EDC Fixed Blade

The SCANDINOFF NORDIC PROTECTOR 130 EDC knife primarily belongs to the outdoor, bushcraft EDC category but is equally suitable for a wide range of uses. This rugged and enduring knife boasts a distinctive shape characteristic of the SCANDINOFF design. However, it distinguishes itself from other fixed knives in several aspects.

Firstly, its blade shape draws inspiration from the original designs of Seax Viking knives. Secondly, its handle features ergonomics with a bevel towards the blade, ensuring a comfortable fit in the hand while providing an additional barrier against slippage, aided by the protective protrusion (heel). Furthermore, the gently curved shape of the handle, a signature design element of all SCANDINOFF knives, enhances ergonomics and ensures a secure grip.

Another distinguishing feature is the 15° bevel on the upper edge of the blade, resulting in a unique design effect at both ends of the bevel. The blade itself is modeled after the original shapes of Nordic Viking knives of the SEAX type and is crafted from Sandvik 14C28N Scandinavian steel, a highly sought-after material in the knife-making industry.

The knife's grind is Flat & Groove, featuring a special SCANDINOFF flat grind with an upper groove sunk to the front of the blade. The upper edge of the knife is also ground to a 15° bevel, enhancing the overall design effect. The entire blade boasts a Stonewash finish, with the steel vacuum-hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 60±1 HRC.
