The Rough Rider Trapper is a classic American knife design dating back generations. Cowboys in the wild wild west would have used a Trapper out on the plains in real life survival situations.


This, the Rough Rider Sowbelly Trapper Buckshot Bone is a handsome version of the Trapper with a "Buckshot" bone handle with decorative nickel silver bolsters and the Rough Rider shield inlayed into the scale. There are two blades, one clip point and one spey. Both are non-locking with a sub three inch cutting edge so classified as UK friendly carry.

    As usual great service from HH. I love this knife, the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the transfer on the Clip Blade was a little crooked. As an EDC or as a collector’s piece you won’t be sorry to own this knife.

    I now have all 3 of the Buckshot bones and this one is the same quality of build and sharpness as the other 2, I like the trapper configuration, recommended

    This sowbelly trapper with buckshot bone scales is one of the best pocket knifes to have. Quality and finish to detail is unbelievable for the price.Rivets are all flush as are the bolsters to the scales.Blades are perfectly aligned when closed and very sharp out of the box. Brass and red liners are all perfect with no gaps and the the two blades are outstanding. Thank you Heinnie Haynes for supplying a superb RR pocket knife with a next day delivery. I am already eyeing up the premium select range as a next purchase.

    Fantastic knife for the price, it is solid and razor sharp out the box, the buckshot bone scales are stunning, you won't be disappointed.

    What a knife for the price! Lovely heft and weight, all elements are nicely fitted together with only a small gap on one of the leaves. The red liner and buckshot scales look really nice together and aside from the shinyness of the blades look nicely vintage. And did I mention it was sharp? Jeez, this thing is like a razor straight out of the box, so much so I need to have my wits about me. Strong spring feel but not a nail breaker and really solid click to the half stops, which inspires confidence. This is my first online knife purchase and both Rough Rider and Heinnie Haynes have surpassed all expectations. Already eyeing up my next purchase.

    Heinnie is the best anyway in all respects so on to the knife; Awesome fit and finish irrespective of the price. Steel seems to be treated well, takes a keen edge. Having said that I'd prefer a stronger spring on the spey blade, the clip one is fine.

    Very fast delivery from HH and the knife is first class considering the price. Sharp out of the box and really well presented if its a uk legal knife you are after just buy one its a no brainer
