    QSP Penguin

Posted by Bryn Davies on 19th Mar 2024

I love this knife. It's not big, but feels so solid and well made that it seems like lot more knife than it should. Came nice and sharp and ready to use. Will definitely get more of this line.

    QSP Penguin Brass

Posted by MPD on 11th Jan 2023

This is an excellent, solid, well built knife. The blade is strong with a good shape and holds an edge. When open the blade locks without any movement The pocket clip can be removed or repositioned easily, it isn't too strong to be usable The antique brass finish, gets better with use. It is a chunky knife, but fits well in the hand and allows a good grip. This is a heavy knife, which I like, but it is not something I want banging around in a pocket, expect to buy a belt pouch The one handed opening was a little stiff on first use, but some WD40 and several band-aids fixed that The only improvement I would suggest is to offer the Penguin with the snakewood scales available on the Worker model

    First impression

Posted by Jay on 25th May 2022

I've read through the reviews on here before buying it and I paid particular attention to it the criticism. I can easily open mine one handed and once you move the blade a little out it can be opened with a flick of the wrist that gives a satisfying click. The Blade on mine is perfectly aligned. It has a really nice weight to it, most of it in the handle so it wats to sit in your hand. It came sharp. I'm really likin it. I just bought it because it looks cool. It looks cool and is fun to play with.

My second QSP and I love it.

Posted by if its not industrial it's broken on 16th Dec 2021

So I checked out the previous reviews, Why were some not giving this knife 5 stars. Opens with just a slight push on the stub, Dont want it loose and floppy. The stud, slightly sharper than knives of similar design, my SOG is silky smooth but I think that may be the years and years of solid use. Centred absolutely perfectly. Razor sharp out the box. This D2 steel is joy to work with. Locks in to place with a precise snap. Fit and feel, an absolute pleasure. Brass bolsters looks fantastic and will weather inn as it gets used over and over. Value, I think its worthy of grabbing one as quick as you can. This is QSP number 2. Knife number 1 has become an everyday user. It's been tested, it's been pushed to beyond expectations. It's delivered and not broken.

    Brass Balled Penguin

Posted by Burt on 21st Jun 2021

The Penguins are renowned now as solid, cheap work knives. The addition of hefty brass scales is a nice touch. I have three micarta penguins that all get used and abused in various, nefarious and filthy ways.. All three are superstars. Perfect fit and finish. Maybe some inconsistencies with the grinds if you really look....but we all fettle our pointy things anyway.. Sadly my brass one is an exception to the apparent norm. Awful blade alignment. Try as I might to centre the thing I simply can’t. I’ve tried every trick Mr Shabazz has to offer and more besides. It’s just luck of the draw. The one knife that slipped passed QC... Other than that the penguins are real swell. Please Heinnie can you stock QSPs Gavial?? Possibly the one QSP that has grace as well as function..I have one but at severe import cost.. I use it and fondle it and am seriously considering running away with it.. I’d like another to polish up and just stare at... please!

    Very nice knife

Posted by andrzej on 21st May 2021

It’s little heavy for EDC and thumb stud feels bit rough. But otherwise great quality, blade literally shave hair on forearm straight out of box. I like it so much I’m considering buying another one with light scales.

    Awesome knife !

Posted by Lee Richards on 17th May 2021

Razor sharp out the box this is my second qsp penguin now great d2 steel and an unbelievable price. knife build and overall feel is flawless it feels like a premium knife worth twice the price tag. And the brass scales will look better as time goes on.
