Description

Perry McGee in association with Scorpion Knives designed this NTS Grappling Hook and Filtration Bag for Professionals, Expedition Leaders, Weekend Adventurers, Outdoorsmen, Tracking Advisors, Militray Servicemen, Survival Instructors and Explorers.

Originally designed for the use by elite rapid entry forces the NTS grappling hook soon made its presence felt elsewhere. An immensely easy to assemble piece of equipment, this sturdy concept of four interlinked and pinned grappling hook acts as a very strong anchorage for just about anything from humans to aircraft, vehicles and vessels. Supplied with instruction document, its uses are only limited by the imagination of the user and the specifically designed holes for use with carabineers and ropes only add to the imagination. An absolute must for any serious exploration, expedition or serious outdoor specialist.

When disassembled the NTS grappling hook fits within a canvas bag which duals up as a water filtration sack, to be used with sterilisation tablets (not supplied) and fits nicely under the seats of a well-known 4 x 4 land vehicle.

The Perry McGee Grappling Hook exceeded my expectations

Posted by Fred on 15th Jul 2025

The Perry McGee Grappling Hook exceeded my expectations. It’s solidly built, with a reassuring weight and excellent craftsmanship. The design is both practical and durable—clearly made with real use in mind rather than just being a novelty. It folds down neatly for easy storage, and the grip and balance feel just right. Whether you're adding it to a survival kit or using it for training or fieldwork, it's a reliable piece of gear. Highly recommended!

    Poor

Posted by Max on 27th Dec 2014

Hi, had this brought for me so I'd thought try it out. It's unsafe and has no endorsement from any safety regulator in the uk. The threads get jammed up with dirt and rust making it hard to undo and tighten up.

    This Is Serious Kit

Posted by Malc of the North on 1st Dec 2014

I was lucky enough to have a play with one of these at a show in the summer. This is a very serious piece of kit with numerous uses. Personally, I will be getting one to sit in me Land Rover. I haven't seen anything that can compete with it.

    Fun tool only

Posted by Don on 27th Nov 2014

No climber would risk life and limb using this piece of kit on a rock face. Purely a fun tool with virtually no applications in the real world apart from maybe on steep grass.
