The Spec Plus series from Ontario specialises in military and sporting knives. All Spec Plus knives utilise high grade material such as Kraton polymer for the handles which provides a secure and comfortable grip and 1095 epoxy powder-coated carbon steel for the blades.

The SP2 is no exception, it makes for an exceptional survival knife and is extremely usable. Its 5 1/2" blade has the Spec Plus 1095 black epoxy powder coated carbon steel and the black, grooved, Kraton handle. It comes with a nylon, Molle belt sheath.

As soon as I opened the knife I was disappointed, it came with a generic cheap sheath, not the one pictured, also there appeared to be a small crack in the blade on the underside just beside the handle, it might have been just the finish in the blade coating, but I didn't like the look of it. Either way it was going back, as usual, customer service was spot on & a refund was made within a couple of days.

This knife is spot on - it felt great in my hand as soon as I picked it up - not too big and not too small I'm sure it will do I could want everything I would want from a knife such as this - and for a king time too Will probably get the SP1 as well but more to have the matching pair than any other reason - the whole SP range seems well thought out and excellent value - a great buy!

Had this one for a lot of years, has always performed well for me, love the 1095 carbon,keeps its edge and is easy to sharpen. Handles are outstanding. Because it was so cheap I have used and abused and it is still one of my favourites. Excellent sheath. Think it is much better than the Sog seal pup, which is a similar. Size. Amazing little knife that won't let you down and will last forever.

Ontario continue to improve their products. The SP2 ships in a smarter/ better box. They no longer stamp their blades, they now use laser etching instead. The bevel is ground a lot better. Even better value for money !

BAD TO BEGIN WITH.WORK OUT A GOOD SCANDI GRIND AND YOU ARE IN FINE SHAPE. NEVER MIND THE SAD SAWBACK, BATON IT TO DEATH IT WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. NICE QUIET SHEATH TOO. JOB IS A GOODUN.
