The Magnum Knivgar is an uncompromising and modern implementation of the knives of the Scandinavian Sami, which have been tried and tested for thousands of years in the harsh Nordic wilderness. It is a universal workhorse for hard and ruthless use in survival training, hunting, fishing, crafts or any other conceivable application.

The blade is made of 420A stainless steel and is breakproof and easy to sharpen even under field conditions with simple means. The indestructible black plastic handle is inseparably connected to the blade by injection moulding, as is the practical hammer and chisel surface on the pommel. These extend the range of applications of the knife by numerous practical tasks.

The one-piece sheath made of weatherproof plastic is equipped with a belt loop and a drainage. This allows all parts of the knife to be cleaned easily and thoroughly, especially after hunting.

    Boker Magnum knivgar

Posted by Dave D on 26th Mar 2021

Ordered a couple of these for general beater knives. One for work and one for the van. I've got to say for just over a tenner you get a lot of knife. They're sharp out of the box, the handle is hard plastic but comfy and they're similar to a mora basic or a hultafors craftsman. There is a useful hammer pommel on the butt of the knife too, but I'm not sure if this is part of the tang. The sheath is a standard plastic moulded one that is functional like the mora ones. All in all for the money it's a capable bit of kit that you won't be too precious about using and abusing. I'd buy it again.

I can only wholeheartedly agree with the previous review, he covered all the points, especially regarding the thickness of the blade. I can see it snapping or at least bending if it was used for heavier tasks

This is a nice knife from Magnum by Böker, but it’s not perfect. It’s well made, the ergonomics are great and it came razor sharp. On the down side, the blade is thin and the steel is basic, so it’s not the best option if you’re looking for a hard-use knife. It’s a decent knife for the price and I do like it, but with a Mora Companion costing £12 and a Hultafors Heavy Duty a mere £6, I can’t suggest that it’s the best option for a budget bushcraft knife.
