The Lion Steel Thrill Titanium is a seriously impressive knife!

Lion Steel manufacturing expertise and sumptuous quality combined with an M390 stainless steel, non-locking blade and a smooth IKBS opening system make this a folder to be reckoned with. The blade is also under 7.6cm (3ins) long so you can carry it as a UK legal carry knife at, as always, your own discretion.

This version has a titanium handle in a choice of either bronze, blue or natural uncoloured titanium...grey, with a clever hidden, spring loaded pocket clip. Simply press the button on the handle and the pocket clip appears and retracts when released.

    A Beauty

Long may this recent deluge of quality non-lockers continue. This I had to add to my collection. I went for the bronzed titanium version, a king of dark metallic beige/gray that is different from the usual anodising. The blade is m390. This is the third m390 blade I have and it is relatively thick at a shim over 3mm. This is important because although the given thickness is 3mm it has a very slight taper to the proximal spine meaning the kwik stud wont fit. The blade is not particularly deep and is a spear point, with flat grind. The edge was smooth and sharp out of the box and didn't need a strop to bring it out. It's non threatening and manages to combine relatively aggressive blade geometry and modern material with a slim gentlemanly overall design. Fit and finish is superb. IKBS mean a smooth action but it does have a detent at 90deg like a lot of tension folders. The integrated back bar is sprung and is a very similar design to Mike's P.I.T.S folder launched a couple years ago. The difference here is that there is the scale of the frame each side meaning no pinched palms. The pocket clip is spring loaded through a linkage with a button on the obverse side. It feels robust enough but time will tell if it holds up. Overall a well designed folder

    Just Perfect...

I've had one of these as an EDC for a couple of weeks now, and it really is a nice thing to own and use. LionSteel are by far my favourite manufacturer of folding knives at the moment (although their fixed blades are amazing, too..!), the fit and finish is first class, and Moletta's designs are always lovely. The blade shape is very practical, and holds a wicked edge! As a UK friendly EDC, it's pretty much as good as it gets- yes it's certainly not cheap, but it's such high-end materials and construction, I think it's well worth it... buy one!
