Yoshimi Kotoh is a Japanese custom knife maker whose knives exude quality and traditional craftsmanship and design.

The Kotoh Burl VG10 is a beautiful little friction folder with a sub three inch blade that doesn't lock. So this is a knife you can carry with you to complete all your daily chores.

The handle is simply one piece of Burl wood with the mid section precisely cut out to accommodate the blade. The blade is made from high quality VG10 stainless steel and has an extended tang to aid one handed opening and to prevent closing during use.

It is supplied with a leather pouch.

Such a beautiful knife. The wood is stunning and I have oiled mine and it is stunning, polished the blade and this thing looks like a custom knife now; love it.

I agree with the other reviewer of this knife. Pretty knife but too light and a flimsy feel. Quality of kotoh black printing to blade is poor and not good enough, quality control needs to be better.

This is a very light knife. The burl handle is attractive and the blade is very sharp. Overall it looks great. There are a few minor points that prevent me from giving it five stars. The orange pouch isn’t very well stitched and very basic and the KOTOH etching on the blade is stained inconsistently. The knife has a hole at the top for a chain or chord but the pouch is just an open ended sleeve so will be of no use if you put the knife on a lanyard as it will just drop off. I was expecting a much better pouch for the money. It would be very easy to accidentally open the knife without a pouch.
