A revolution in slip-joint construction! The Kizer Vagnino Zipslip G10. Custom knife makers Michael Vagnino and Tom Ferry have collaborated on a brand new knife mechanism called the "Ever Flush Spring" concept. The design includes a slit in the backbar creating the spring and upper tang stop meaning the backbar stays in place during opening and closing. Open the blade and watch the back bar stay in place and motionless.

Kizer have now produced this superb UK legal carry knife with G10 handle scales in a choice of colours and an N690 stainless steel blade.

    Top notch

Posted by Steven on 20th Jun 2019

Very nice Well made, perfectly centred blade, perfect grind. Can't find any flaws in terms of workmanship. Good steel. Opening hole isn't as user friendly as a stud for me. May end up replacing the boker Xs od as my daily driver. Very similar knifes actually. Recommended

    Disappointed

Posted by Allijami on 15th Jun 2019

Bought this a few weeks ago before it was listed by HH. The show side is very handsome. I'm a righty so not affected by right hand only carry but given that the blade design is intrinsically ambidextrous I don't get right hand only. Described as OHO and is, but not easy or quick. Maybe how it should be these days. Useful up a ladder or holding something else. A good forward choil, just as well as the open hold is just about the weakest I have ever come across. I dislike the weird springiness around the half-stop. Probably it was the N690 steel which clinched the purchase. A step up from my 8Cr13MoV class norm. Finally, at 105g nicely weighty, or just heavy depending on your viewpoint. I mentioned N690. My disappointment with this Kizer prompted me to pull the trigger on a Spyderco Urban purchase, something I have been thinking about for years. Yes I'd have liked G10 rather than FRN but at only very slightly over half the weight does everything better.

    Better than expected

Posted by Hugh on 9th Jun 2019

First off, typical 1st class service from HH. Onto the knife. Well I was apprehensive because if the numerous YouTube videos criticising the strength of the backapring. OK, it is not as stiff as some on the market, but for a slip joint, it is more than adequate, and the finger choil me as you'll never be at risk. The slightly beyond 90 degree half stop also got some flack, but again, it locks up there nice and securely, and if common sense is applied, it really isn't an issue. One handed opening. I've had a similar experience with knives like the viper DAN. In that it's a pain. Until you sit there and work out how to do it. Once you figure it out, it's suddenly very easy, quick, and safe. Shaving sharp out of the box, perfect blade alignment, and built like a tank. Reassuringly heavy, and I'm a huge fan of n690. Overall, I'd say this knife is punching above its weight.
