The 10th anniversary Kizer Hyper features a detachable titanium handle. The knife form is inspired by the design lines and spoiler of the Hypercar and the two-tone colors of the classic Mercedes Maybach.

The blade is Elmax steel. With a Rockwell hardness of 61-62HRC, Elmax steel provides excellent edge retention and excellent wear resistance, hardness, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability. The steel also keeps sharp for a long time without needing frequent polishing.

There is no traditional lining inside the handle for structural support. The handle relies on the interaction and offset forces of the inner workings to form a stable structure. Using the two structural parts as the handle, the Hyper can easily mill a cutout like a supercar spoiler and hide the clip between the two handle parts. No more catching on your pocket since the clip is bent from the handle cutout which avoids the gap between the clip and the handle.

Kizer Hyper Elmax/Titanium

Very satisfying purchase. Incredibly sharp out of the box, and the extra gold coloured hardware looks much better than the default black. I also have the red/blue S35VN/Aluminium version. The aluminium scales have a better finish in my opinion, but the Elmax blade came with a better, more uniform grind. The action on both is great, both button locks were a bit sticky out of the box but wore in nicely with regular use.

Believe the Hyper!!

I couldn’t see from the photos on the Heinnie site if it was actually anodised Black & White!! Took a punt and found that it is Anodised Black Titanium and raw Titanium!! Phew. And boy does it look and feel good. Light weight in the hand but not too light. Very sharp out of the box, as you’d hope. Like the Kizer Original, which is a very similar size, the action is smooth and precise with a reassuring snap as it locks. I own both the Kizer Original and the Hyper and definitely prefer the blade shape of the Hyper, I love the shape. I love the two tone colour, and the fact you can swap the clip to the other side if you’re a lefty. The only gripe I have is that there is not a lanyard hole as I like to have a lanyard & bead, that glows in the dark having lost a very expensive knife in the past!! But have attached one around one of the bottom rear stand offs. Not ideal but the blade doesn’t make contact so hopefully it won’t cut through it over time!! Overall, it seems a lovely knife for a great price. Very happy.
