The basis of the X-knife’s strength lies in the laminated cobalt steel in combination with the well-thought-out construction in which break zones have been eliminated. Lam. Cos stands for Laminated Cobalt Steel. It is at least 20% stronger than a solid stainless steel. The F1X uses a steel "sandwich". The "bread" is almost corrosion free, 420J stainless with a super hard Cobalt Steel "filling." Factor in the Tungsten Carbide coating, which increases the blades surface hardness to 2400 HV (Vickers) or around HRC 83 and you have a edge of supreme cutting capability.
The Fallkniven X Series F1 Black is supplied with a Kydex sheath with a "transport lock." Meaning the knife can be stored in a ready to go position or locked in so it can be stored in the tip up or down position.
