The black dye from the suede comes off onto your hands, and clothing, and anything else it comes into contact with.. !!! I got this to protect my latest expensive folder, which has 900 year old Oak scales, (Boker Schloss Burg), so the last thing I want, is to have the beautiful Oak contaminated with black dye,, When you buy something which is specifically designed to protect something, then it shouldn't actually be the "Cause", of ruining the knife in question.. (imho) When I queried the problem with HH, I was told, that the dye coming off, is a totally "normal" thing,, !!!.. Sorry, but a badly made, (re dye) £4 slip, is going nowhere near my 900 year old knife,,, I can't be bothered to send it back, so, I'll give it a good wash, and maybe use it for a knife which has a stainless blade, and synthetic scales,,, To say I'm disappointed, is the understatement of the year, apart from the dye coming off, it's a pretty good slip,,. Suppose I'll have to look elsewhere, for something to protect my new pride and joy..
