The handy Boker Barlow Expedition is a lightweight slip-joint pocket knife that can handle almost all everyday cutting jobs effortlessly. In this version, it is equipped with contoured handle scales made of olive green Canvas Micarta, while the bolsters and liners are made of matt blasted brass. The resulting colour contrast is reminiscent of the privation-laden expeditions of discovery in times long past.

The satin-finished blade is made of N690 stainless steel with 60 HRC and is opened by a nail nick. The operating safety of the knife is increased by a 90° stop when opening and closing the blade. The characteristic teardrop shape of the Barlow can be traced back to the English pocket knives of the 17th century, making it certainly one of the oldest models ever. Handmade in the Boker knife manufactory Solingen.

    Boker Barlow Expedition

Posted by Stephen Lewis on 2nd Oct 2023

Not ridiculously sharp out of the box but a few strops bought it to life. I really can’t fault this knife - it’s shape and form + the attention to detail that it’s been afforded make this my perfect(subtle) edc. I have medium/large hands and it nestles nicely, it’s perfectly centred and is easily opened without employing the nail nick. In the pocket it pails to insignificance and has no snag points to wreck the pocket bags. All in all ….. superb and well worth the money.
