Real Steel Stella Premium

I had eyed the RS Stella for a while, as I really loved the design and materials, and eventually went for an exclusive edition with green micarta scales which I bought elsewhere. I loved it so much I came back to HH to purchase the more expensive premium version as well. The only knife I have ever bought two versions of... so that's saying something!

This knife looks like some treasure you found at the bottom of your granddad's toolbox - after cleaning off the oily grime, i.e. pleasantly bashed-about and from some other era. Of course, his wouldn't have had the titanium and S35VN that make this such a gem. Solid and weighty in the hand - actual weight: 75 g. The shallow cutout at the rear of the scales makes the blade very easy to open. The open blade lock-up is solid - comparable to a Spyderco Urban. The 120 degree half stop works well - no insecurity about one-hand closing. The action initially felt rough - gravelly even. The problem was the tang / backspring interaction. To smooth it out, I poked a liberal amount of Glanol metal polish into the pivot / tang area, used the knife for a couple of days, then dismantled and scrubbed the parts clean under the hot tap with a toothbrush and washing-up liquid. The friction surfaces came out polished. Reassembled with White Lightning Crystal bicycle grease. Action is smooth now. The pivot has twin phosphor-bronze washers on each side, i.e. four washers, each punched with eight holes to retain lubricant. Although it was sharp out of the box, I re-profiled the slightly indeterminate edge bevels to 15 degrees with CBN, then ceramics. The S35VN holds an edge well. Moderately easy to sharpen. Centering is perfect. The stonewash totally masks fingerprints, is easy to clean and looks and feels really good. This knife isn't just a beautiful design. It's a real user - almost a beater in practical terms, i.e. won't mind getting knocked around and easy to maintain. Actual blade length is 7.5 cm, edge length 6.85 cm. UK legal and just about long enough to cut up an apple. The usual efficient service from HH.

Excellent UKL folder, I got number 216.. Lightweight , great blade profile, Ive removed pocket clip on mine which Is my preference. Get one if undecided you wont regret ..great service from HH always...D

All i will say is Real steel has done yet again another top quality product fit n finish is fantastic. I all ready have the standard version and when this model come out it was a no brainer for me . The titanium handle is perfectly done beautifully stone washed finish as for the blade grind is bang on the sharpening is perfectly done bang on Center no sloppy lopsided edge. As for the blade it is bang on center. I personally think it’s a truly beautiful piece of work. Happy collecting people

Absolutely delighted with this quality little knife purchase. These are all individually serial numbered and I managed to score my lucky number which is an added bonus feels like I have won the lottery with this one. Top quality service from HH these guys deliver every time. The knife is exceptional in every way. Full flat ground S35VN blade and titanium stonewashed scales. The design of the handle flows perfectly with the blade shape and is nice and thin but still manages to fit my hand perfectly and remain very comfortable in use. Very sharp out the box as you would expect. Thin enough blade stock to make this a hell of a slicer. An excellent little UK Friendly gem that is often overlooked. The slip joint is perfectly tensioned and strong in my opinion and is just about perfect for me. Blade centering is spot on too and the gimping has been executed in all the correct places. This is a great little knife and really happy I held out for the premium version. Pocket clip offers decent security in the pocket and sculptured to compliment the sleek design. Not sure how many are being made but a video on YouTube suggests 200+ units. The only thing I would change is the speed holes on the ti scales which I am not a great fan of tbh which is the only negative niggle for me.

I loved the Luna when I got the Heinnie version, and the titanium version quickly became my favourite EDC choice and now it is Jones by the Stella. At almost the same weights, there is little to choose between them, so it all comes down to my mood. As always, Heinnie service is first class! Thank you.
