The rechargeable Petzl IKO CORE headlamp combines multiple technologies to offer 500 lumens at only 79 g. Featuring an AIRFIT headband, an ultra-thin lamp body and an energy source worn in the rear, the headlamp is balanced and comfortable enough to be imperceptible. The multiple LEDs are ideally distributed to provide uniform lighting, for optimal visual comfort. Thanks to its HYBRID CONCEPT design, IKO CORE comes with the CORE rechargeable battery and is also compatible with three AAA/LR03 batteries (not included). It is versatile: can also be worn around the neck, or transformed into a lantern, using the storage pouch. It can be flattened to reduce bulk, making it practical for all outdoor activities.

Nice headlamp

The Iko along with the Petzl Zipka 300 has become my favourite headlamp. It has a great range of lighting and the ability to wear it as a necklace means it is great for a variety of tasks.

Outstanding, new favourite.

I own too many headtorches. However, I make use of one most nights. Most have an elasticated head band, and need to be quite tight to remain in place if active or in unusual positions. This can be distracting and painful. This preamble is given to try to explain why I'm so impressed with the Iko core. The head band (yes, you will look like a '70's sci- fi character) grips without clinging and the battery pack tucks under the nape of my big, bald head. The result is 'weightless' illumination. The colour scheme is more mountain than bushcraft, but therefore easily located. The simple choice of a translucent bag to create a lantern if required demonstrates the thought lavished on this item. Light levels are more than adequate for close and camp work, the spread should be great for running or hiking. My new 'go to' headlamp, thanks HH.
