Awesome little tool that has a million uses even without a blade

Posted by Woodhead on 21st Jul 2020

I work in the city and wanted an EDC tool that I could carry about but forget I had until it was needed. The Style CS didn’t quite meet my needs then this came along and is everything I could want while out and about in the city. The tweezers are strong and the blades fit and actually grab hair or splinters which other tweezers on others products don’t, the carabiner is useful but not very strong but the pliers are secure and the springs to keep everything together are tight and strong. The screw driver works well and is small enough to be used in some Philips screws and the scissors are brilliant, yes you need to be patient and slow with hyphen but they work and are sharp. Excellent pliers for small light tasks, this is a perfect EDC Tool to carry.

    PS? Pretty snazzy.

So, you need some handy little gadget, because, if you are being honest about the matter, you feel lost and vulnerable. Yes, you are traveling and your trusty SAK is verboten. Fortunately Leatherman has a solution. The Style PS.

In reality experiences and opinions vary as to whether a PS will or won't be allowed on your flight. It seems that IF you decide to carry your PS on board a flight that it is best to have it open in a tray with other contents of your pockets while going through security, so that it is evident that there is no knife blade present.

Have I ever done so? No. In fact the PS was a gift for my young nephew. It seemed a better choice than a bladed mulitool. And it was happily welcomed.

Air travel is obviously not the same today as in years past. Yet it is still worth asking, what do I really need to bring with me? Are there allowable substitutes for what I would normally carry for my EDC needs? A little forethought can help one settle on items that are practical and perfectly legitimate.

At any rate, the Leatherman PS is well made, although a bit on the small side. The tools are acceptable within their capabilities. And it is nice and light. The carabiner feature makes it portable and versatile. All in all, nice for what it is.

And it does make an affordable gift. And yes, with consideration, a pleasant surprise for a youngster.

Loved mine until (like another here) the scissor spring snapped.

    My favourite multi-tool

Posted by Conor on 26th Oct 2016

This is on my keys every day, has been for a while now, and it's remarkable just how much I end up using it.

The pliers are brilliant, the scissors are great (considering I've always hated fold out scissors, that's quite a comment from me), even the screwdriver/nail file comes in way more useful that I'd expected.

It's fantastically small, but more useful and handy than any other multi-tools I've ever owned.

Combine it with one of the tiny spyderco knives, and you have a brilliant, handy little set of tools for more situations than you may imagine

    Great tool, But.....

Posted by Robbie on 13th Apr 2015

Bought one of these quite a while ago, thought it'd be a good addition to my keys as I didn't want to carry my SAK and a bladed multi-tool with me, just in case I get searched by some Anti-knife plod and he want's to know why I'm carrying two blades with me.

Anyway, Excellent multi-tool, the scissors and pliers are REALLY nice considering how small they are. The steel, considering the amount of moisture and pocket fluff that gets built up in the tool , never had any signs of corrosion or wobble, until the small leaf spring on the scissors just inexplicably snapped in half.

I'm not going to rate it down for this though, because it's still useable, but I'll send it back to leatherman to get it fixed anyway because spring loaded scissors are why I bought this tool.

All in all, amazing tool, even better service from HH!

    Fantastic urban EDC multi tool

Posted by Michael on 20th Apr 2013

I LOVE my Style PS...I have a Skeletool but even after removing the locking blade to make it UK legal I just find it too heavy in my pocket.

The PS is like the Skeletool's bladeless little brother. It's so light in the pocket it's hardly noticeable in fact I put a lanyard on it so it doesn't get 'lost' in there.

The tools that there are are fantastic for an urban EDC multitool and just the tools I find I need when out and about. I really like the fact the pliers are spring loaded, not exactly heavy duty but great non the less. The little spring loaded scissors make a great compliment to my Spyderco Squeak. I find I don't really need a screwdriver but it works great as a fingernail cleaner. All in all I'm very happy with this tool.
