Based on the Mistral Anorak, the Helikon Tex Woodsman Anorak jacket is made of DuraCanvas - the fabrics more suitable for outdoor and camping. The front is made of DuraCanvas fabric, therefore it is fire-spark resistant and durable enough not to be damaged by sharp objects and branches. The back of the jacket is made of StormStretch fabric, to provide higher breath-ability and better freedom of movement.

The whole jacket is highly wind resistant. The Woodsman Anorak has three pockets, including one kangaroo on the front with internal organiser. Sides are fully zippered up to the arm pits to provide easy don and doff. The side zippers can also be used as ventilation. Additionally the jacket has adjustable, hood with visor.

Not worth the cash

I got this expecting a good fit not a snug fit but no matter its very light and in light rain it Dosent take much to soak through as I found out this morning walking the dog. Once it's wet forget it being wind proof as the cold seaps through it easily disappointed with HELIKON as I have a few of their products HEINNIE as usual sent it out super fast great stuff as for the product seems light and rugged but to snug for underlayers sopposed to be 52" chest can't find where the extra 2" went from a 50" chest

A hiking jacket basically

I'd seen mostly excellent reviews of this anorak online and the impression was of a tough DuraCanvas (I assumed canvas) bushcraft smock and an excellent quality more affordable version of something by Fjällräven.It seemed just what I was looking for but the taiga green in medium was sold out everywhere so I took a chance on size small in black.Delivery took 2 days standard delivery and my first impression was of a synthetic feeling black Nike running jacket with stretchy lycra back made in Vietnam and I did think about returning it - the DuraCanvas material did feel reasonably tough, and the front kangaroo pocket was great, it was an okay fit with enough room for a jumper underneath but not a jumper and fleece jacket and I wished I'd been able to get the green in medium.Upon wearing it outdoors my appreciation of it began to grow as it was windproof, easily ventilated, light rain beaded on the material and I loved the convenience of the big kangaroo pocket - but it was black and I just felt like a town person wearing it in the woods, it was more impressive when worn hiking and seemed more suited to that than bushcraft.

Great anorak

Not had chance to fully test it yet as only recieved today. Great delivery very fast shipping. The jacket itself feels and fits fantastic. I went for an XL and I normally go for a 50-52 inch chest in upper garments and this fits perfect even with a Helikon classic army fleece underneath also in a size XL. Im 6 foot 1 and 18 stone. The material feels strong and the back is very stretchy so you get great flexability. The pockets are great. Zippers are strong. Zips on the sides are sometimes akward to pull down to close the garment but not a real issue. Overall very happy with it. You wont be dissapointed

Brilliant anorak

Extremely lightweight and the full side zips make it easy to get on and off. Easily compares with more expensive brands. I highly recommend this.
