Very ergonomic design and excellent balance. Definitely fit for purpose. Sheath may look bulky but simply works.

    A Perfect Small Dagger

Posted by Daniel Sharpe on 18th Jan 2024

I love daggers, always have. I own quite a few, especially of the Fairbairn Sykes family. This is one of the very best daggers I have seen, and that's because Demko has understood that the essence of a dagger is simplicity and strength. I have seen comments that this knife isn't a great cutter because it's very thick behind the edge. Well, that's because it's a dagger and it's not really made for ease of cutting. We all know what this is for. This will do that, the blade strength means it will do it well, and it's also very, very sharp and cuts just fine, although if you peel an apple with it you are doing that for effect. It's semi-double edged, the top swedge being sharpened but also providing a flat spine closer to the handles to allow you to use your thumb to control the blade in deep cuts. The handle is very comfortable with jimping on the top edge to orientate your hand. The full tang extends through the handle just enough to provide a ridge to use as a striking point. The patent pending sheath is beautifully made and very well thought through. It's perhaps a tad bulky for the knife and also clearly not cheap. I'd honestly prefer a very simple and light kydex or nylon cordura sheath but that's just me liking simplicity in daggers, although if it knocked a tenner off what's already a bargain price for a dagger of this quality that would be great. In conclusion, this is a superb knife.
