    Great little knife

Posted by ACM on 15th Jan 2020

A brilliant little folder and for the price point, an exceptionally well made knife. Very sharp straight out of box and blade is perfectly centered. Blade shape is great especially for a non-lock folder and most uses will apply pressure keeping knife open.Has a good detent and should be good for most "soft" daily uses. Only gripe is the pocket clip, which is most definitely not deep carry, is incredibly stiff (hopefully will soften after use) and in its current state and position, not particularity useful. As usual, an excellent service from HH and super fast delivery.

An excellent little knife, shaving sharp out the box. Perfect size for edc just chuck in a bag or just drop in your pocket you won't even know its there. The build quality feels amazing for the size of the knife. And once again HH had an very fast delivery again.

    LITTLE NICE EDC

Posted by luk on 8th Jul 2019

Thank you HH. Even when couriers and delivery companies failing YOU still stand on top of case. Sending me replacement when first parcel was not delivered. Little Bean is brilliant as a very small EDC. Looks good, cost not much and do the job as should...nothing more nothing less...for every other who rating Bean low please look on CRKT Liong Mah #5 Heinnie® Edition. Good job Serge and thanks to HH again.

Good design but not right for me

Posted by Nice looking knife on 2nd Jul 2019

I ordered the stainless steel version. The build quality is exceptional and it looks fantastic, nicely rounded and the oval thumb hole works well. Blade shape is nice and useful and a good size for edc. No doubt will be a perfect knife for some applications. I decided to return it as I felt the ball/catch joint was not secure enough for me. It opened fairly easily but also closes very easily. Because it is a small knife I found for most applications my thumb or index finger would push against the back of the blade and the rest of my hand gripped the handle. For anything other than the most light of tasks I found the blade was likely to close on my hand from the pressure of finger/thumb. The handle is too short to comfortably just grip it, regardless I find I have more control holding it as explained. There are a lot of cheaper small knifes for limited use like opening letters etc and I wanted something more versatile so sadly returned it. If there was a version with either a more traditional slipjoint / spring or locking version I would reconsider. Have opted for an Arthur wright lambsfoot instead. I am not looking to put people off as it is a great knife, just sadly not what I was looking for.

    Great small EDC knife

Posted by Alun on 7th Apr 2019

The build quality of this small knife is amazing for the price. It was a perfect edition to my UK friendly EDC collection. The design and weight make it so easy to carry in all situations. The clip is very strong gives peace of mind that it's not going to fall out and once clipped in you forget it's even there as it's so light. Love it!!

No, back to something more traditional.

Posted by Gary on 24th Mar 2019

I am slightly amazed at the amount of five star reviews. Not that this knife doesn't have an awful lot going for it. Sadly, for me the aesthetics are not enough. I wanted an EDC slip joint that I could open with one hand, and it works after some practice. Unfortunately it leaves a huge hole behind, which together with the handle texture, (I went for the Zebra wood) the placing of the clip, and the overall size, means that for me this is simply uncomfortable. Very nice steel, a lovely shape to the blade, giving a little longer belly than I was expecting and despite being thick, it slices very well. In fact the blade is a winner as far as I am concerned. I don't mean to rain on the others' parade, but the knife simply doesn't fit in my hand. It seems to be a universal that HH are loved, and I love them too, but on this occasion I would have liked to have gone to a shop, on a high street, in a a town, then gone for a pint after, and finally smoked a cigarette to celebrate. You all know very well that even if I hadn't bought this -- and it is so pretty that I might have -- I would have bought something. So, a knife that nearly does the job for me. Heartily pleased that it is doing the job for the rest of you.

    A Lovely Little Knife

Posted by N River on 19th Mar 2019

A lovely little knife with a sensibly sized and well designed blade. Easy single handed open and close with good blade retention in both positions. The handle is comfortable and secure enough for the kind of everyday jobs one tackles with a pocket knife. The blade comes reasonably sharp Aesthetically pleasingly from the simple presentation box to the Black Fox logo machined in to the grip scale. My only complaint is the pocket clip; when using it the knife sits high and I for one would appreciate a deep carry style clip.

    Finally! :)

Posted by Jonathan on 18th Mar 2019

I finally own something from the wonderful Serge Panchenko :) Well, OK, not directly from, but still... I've admired his custom designs for some years now, but between not having a few hundred spare for what will inevitably be a shelf queen, and "available" times all being in the small hours for the UK... and even the Spyder Co versions being a bit spicy on price for what they are - design above utility... I'd more or less given up. Then Heinnie sent me an advert for these and less than 48 hours later, it's mine ;) I've gone for the black G10 version - it's a knife that I want to EDC and use and I've got to like the grip and wear that G10 offers... also, I like the black stonewash. The blade itself is a little more "solid" black then I expected, so I'll need to take some extra care when sharpening. On arrival, it's sharp enough for fingernail curls but won't pop hairs; I'm sure it'll only take a little work to get it there. Not a big fan of clips in general (extra weight and bulk I don't use), but as another reviewer has said it's very difficult to remove, I'm seeing how I get with it for now. The fit and feel of the knife are far beyond the price point; it's lovely to look at and fiddle with. One-handed opening is definitely a two-stage process for me at the moment. Although the ball detent is not the firmest at holding the blade open, Serge pointed out that the extended thumbhole in the Beans means you can use a good bit of pressure onto that to keep the blade where it should be. Feels like he's right to me... although this is a small knife and you probably shouldn't really be using it for heavy tasks anyway. Overall, this a lovely knife with that little bit of extra cachet for those who know, and at this price it feels fine to simply carry and use it.

    Quality

Strong joint and a good positive click to the lock opened and closed. Nice and sharp out of the box. I have the wooden handled version and reallly like the finish. This really is a beautifully designed and built knife.
