The classic Victorinox Spartan has had a facelift. The Victorinox Spartan PS is here, with components and tools cleverly finished in black thanks to a process known as Polispectral. The tools boast a special coating that looks different depending on how the light hits it, ranging from dark grey to anthracite, with a unique shimmering and mirror-smooth surface finish.

To this Victorinox have added a black lanyard and encased it in a choice of black or white scales for a cool monochrome version of the Swiss Army Knife.

    Only one for the collection

Victorinox spartan ps is one of those knives that come along with the ,for the collection only design cues ?

The good old spartan has been treated with a black polyspectral coating to the blades and liners for added cool appeal ?

This is going to rack up the price a bit, infact a lot !

The big question is ,is it worth it ? Well quite frankly in my opinion the answer no ! It is not a Damascus finish just a glossy black oxide that will if you use it scratch and come off !

The spartan ps is one for the collection, and its odd that Victorinox even bothered with it with a premium price !

The spartan is a great knife and you can buy three or four in place of the ps model if you shop around ?

I think however this will be a collectors piece down the line but it's nothing special to speak of !!!!!

    So black it's frictionless!

I've been a big fan of Victorinox ever since my Dad bought me my first knife on holiday in Switzerland many decades ago.
I've bought many other brands since but I've always been impressed by Victorinox's value for money.
I also agree with the last reviewer that this is a collectors piece, I don't want to get it scratched up, it's beautifully black!

    beautiful knives

I got given some cash for my birthday and was at a loss what to buy when these popped up in my twitter feed.
Flush enough to afford both, I ordered them.
They're the usual victorinox quality and the black blades look absolutely gorgeous.
The only downside is, for me, that they're collectors peices rather than users and so have been squirrelled away with my other nice SAKs.
