TOPS first friction folder design now has a second blade shape available. Leo wanted the Tac-Raze to fill two purposes specifically. It had to be a good-looking gentleman’s EDC that could be carried and used in public, and it had to be a functional tool. To accomplish those needs, he started with simple shapes and added curves in all the right places. Even the sheath is stylish, but also gives the wearer a variety of carry options.

It's not just about looks though. This knife will perform everyday tasks quickly and easily, such as opening packages, cutting down boxes, cutting rope, etc.

It comes with good-looking Green Canvas Micarta handles, TOPS’ famous Black River Wash finished 1095 with TOPS’ “signature” differential heat treat. The strong brown leather sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally on a belt for ease of carry.

Different, in a very good way

This is a very different kind of knife, granted, but there is just something about it that 'works' for me. It is an exceptionally well put together knife, fit and finish are spot on, and ergonomics are comfortable in a variety of grips. The included belt pouch is excellent and can be used for either vertical or horizontal carry. The 'straight razor' styling might not be for everyone, but it is a fantastic slicer and the factory edge was shaving sharp (unironically...) If you like the look then this IS for you...

    Old school cool

I’ve been waiting for Hennie to get this in since I saw its release by Tops. The blade shape is fantastic, not threatening in any way (unless you believe in Sweeney Todd) and a lovely every day carry. I’ve only had it a day and carried in the sheath in my pocket. The fit on the sheath is great but not made for pocket carry and it shows. I think for pocket carry I will ditch the sheath. The blade is sharp out of the box, the movement is a little tight but smooth. The oil included certainly helps. It feels a little expensive for what it is compared to a Sog Zoom (not an edc but a great knife) which is a similar price or a boker Wasabi cocobolo which is less than half the price (I’d probably go for the boker as an efc as it’s sleeker and feels better value). Having said after waiting months for this to be available I’m very happy and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. It’s a little expensive but the steel is good as is the fit and finish. One of the nicest larger friction folders out there at a reasonable price for edc. I’d go for every time over the shape and handle of the first version.
