Whether you’re kicking back with a few close friends at the end of a long day, enjoying a night of poker, out on the golf course, or spending some time in your favorite lounge, the TOPS 208 Clipper is your new go-to cigar cutter. For most, smoking is about more than the cigar. It is about the whole experience. That is why people put so much effort into their set-up from the humidor, to the furniture, to the lighter, to the liquor to pair with each cigar. It’s a social activity. The next time you’re about to light up, all of your friends are going to be jealous of that cutter you’re carrying.

The 208 Clipper has a CPM S35VN blade with black Cerakoted steel liners, OD Green G10 handles, and a high-quality double-stitched black leather sheath that make the experience that much more enjoyable for everyone involved. Plus, the design was inspired by TOPS’ first ever model the Steel Eagle 107D, so it’s got over 20 years of TOPS history built in. You spent good money on that cigar and all the accessories that go along with it. Make sure you’ve got to right cutter too, the TOPS 208 Clipper.

Please note that this tool is supplied with a bottle of lubricating oil. This cannot be carried in normal postal services, so will affect the delivery options available at checkout.

OK I gave in and purchased one

I buckled and went for it, still think it's overpriced compared to Tops other models about 140 quid would have been fair. But what a knife it's brilliant if you can swallow the price just order one. It's solid, heavy and built like a tank. Large for a knife with just over a two inch blade, a three and a half finger grip for my large hands. With the broad Tanto blade Tops have managed to give us nearly three inches of cutting edge on a blade that looks much smaller making it a ideal UK edc. Fit and finish are perfect courtesy of CNC production, the blade to liner clearance is a tight tolerance to provide the guillotine effect for cigars, I don't smoke so this feature is a novelty for me, even though it's tight there is no blade rub and centering is perfect. Just be careful the fleshy part of your fingers don't protrude into the cigar hole during closing, I did and felt the blade brush by, I won't be doing that again. Blade was just shaving sharp but a quick strop and it's hair popping. The chisel grind combined with the stress rise at the junction of the yokote with the cutting edge means this will cut through whatever you point it at. Now for the sheath it's beautifully made but useless, if like me you fit a lanyard in the hole provided you will need to make a hole in the leather for the bottle opener to fit through. Whichever way you mount it you're left with a gimped bottle opener that will wear holes in your clothes and god forbid scratch your best watch as you brush your wrist by your belt. If you have a bit of a gut like me it will also poke you when you bend or sit. So you will be left looking for a decent slip or belt pouch which is a shame as all Tops needs to do is make it a couple of inches longer. Tops included a little bottle of oil which is a nice touch and thankfully omitted the plastic whistle ( anybody out there want to buy 30 Tops whistles, they're going peep) Heinnie were amazing yet again.

    How much!

Firstly I'm a Tops fan boy getting on for 30 in my collection, but how can this be best part of 200 quid when a fox dragotac is 52 quid, I'm sure labour and material cost are pretty similar in Italy and the US. The S35VN used for this will be about a fiver more than 1095 and lacks the zone tempering that lifts Tops above it's competitors. It's a real shame because it would be a nice UK edc. Imagine this in 1095 with the usual Tops hamon with a acid polish and exotic scales. This review in no way is meant to reflect badly on Heinnie.
