The Spyderco Manbug has a thick, muscular flat-ground ZDP-189 blade.

ZDP-189 steel is manufactured in Japan and classified by knife industry standards as exotic for its remarkable hardness and enhanced capacity for edge retention. It is made using powdered metallurgy technology. The process allows for 3% of the steel’s structure to be made of pure carbon.

Spyderco offers high-performance exotic steels, like ZDP-189, on a number of everyday-carry working folders including the Manbug. It is sized for carry on a keychain, but the Manbug packs exceptional and surprising cutting power into a small ergonomic package. Jimping located on the blade’s spine generates a slip-resistant purchase point where the pad of the thumb sits to keep the folder steadily rooted in the hand.

The handle is made of BRITISH RACING GREEN FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) with a mid-spine positioned back-lock that features a David Boye Dent. Manbugs are clipless, designed for carry inside a pocket or affixed to a key chain threaded through the lined lanyard hole.

I love love love british racing green, and appreciate my knives. This is a winning combination, a great little tool, shaving sharp OTB, and it goes without saying that Hennys delivery came next day even tough I selectored Standerd Delivery. 5* to Nick and his team at Henny Hayes in Cardiff

    great little knife

Posted by Cainy on 22nd Sep 2015

Its too small as an EDC knife, but I bought this knife to go specifically into a cycling tool pack that I carry in a jersay pocket.
The ZPD blade is shave sharp, I checked, and given the limited use and stainless nature, should go a couple of seasons without a re-sharpen.
Great next day service from heinnie as usual.
