SOG SEAL Team

I like many others I'm sure missed out on the original seki made version but don't rule this out based on assuming the original is always gonna be better - a - you will find an original very hard to come by and -b - this is a superb piece of kit if you can see past your inner snob (I generally think the same) and trust that the Taiwanese really know how to produce decent quality knives - this has been proved time and time again and is evident in what spyderco are putting out these days. The knife is perfect fit and finish wise. Razor sharp with perfectly even grinds and a very nice finish on the blade. The grip is comfortable for my small / medium sized hands with great feel in all grip positions. My only issue is the sheath - it's not bad , just don't like the Velcro closure. Will most likely get a custom kydex made for it. The stock is nice and thick and God only knows what you would have to do to damage this knife. The glass reinforced handle feels very hard - to look at it you might expect a rubbery feel but this is not the case it's very hard indeed adding to its feel as a robust knife . It's nicely balanced meaning it's nimble in hand and grip can be changed easily one handed . Very happy with the knife and I doubt for the price which I think is reasonable that you will be dissapointed. Love it

Genuinely excellent knife - I got mine a dogs age back with a zytel sheath

Where do I start with this knife? The SOG Seal Team is an absolute quality piece of kit! I received mine about a month ago but was hesitant to review it without putting it through some significant wear and tear. A common miss-conception is that the SEALS use this knife, although somewhat true, this knife is the predecessor and the SEALS had some things tweaked and/or improved. But never the less, this excellent knife will last you a knife time! (Excuse the pun) Hammering, slicing, hacking, chopping, cutting you name it this knife will do it! Excellent AUS 6 Steel combined with tip reinforced strength and SOG's quality and care makes this knife a must buy for anyone serious about camping, survival or collecting! The knife comes with an excellent Nylon sheathe too, perfect for carrying or attaching to a belt. It comes razor sharp out of the box (literally). I was able to shave the hair off the back off my hand straight out of the box. As always it comes with SOG's life time warranty should anything happen to it... it won't! A quick note about Heinnie too. Excellent customer service, I rang up 3 times with multiple questions and they were always happy to help! I Received the item next day in quality packaging. This knife is definitely a must buy for anyone that is interested and by ordering with Heinnie you can wait for delivery in confidence that you and your package will be treated with the up most care and professionalism.

This knife has a certain quality that makes you want to hold it in your hand, turn it around, feel its weight and pop your tongue back in your mouth. For me this knife has all the qualities of a piece of art. It has incredible lines and looks beautiful given the purpose this blade was designed for. I also want to thank Olly for putting up with the several calls I made to Heinnie Haynes. Excellent customer service.

I'm truly disapointed with this knife. I've received mine recently, and came with a minor tip defect. The grey finishing was off and the blade/tip wasn?t sharp. There was a chip on the tip! The blade wasn't razor sharp. This will be my first and last SOG Knife.

If only SOG made sheaths like Extrema Ratio this would get 5 stars. To be factual this knife was not the Knife Tested by USN Seal teams it was its predecessor. However, this knife is just as good SOG really do need to up their game I have no confidence in retaining the knife in the water without modification. It's bombproof and holds its edge well but it's no use at all if its not in the sheath when you need it. Serrations sharp unlike Ex Ratio knives.

This is a special forces bad boy that will cut with ease. The build quality is fantastic and at the price this knife is far too cheap for a survival tool of this standard. I, like many before me have put this implement through its paces. If I could only choose one knife for every situation then this classic Sog piece would be at the top of my list for compact strength, durability and value for cash, back it up with a Seal pup elite or an Sog Pentagon and take on any challenge!!! I look forward to marrying this knife to a kydex scabbard...

Good strong army type knife. Top quality steel, holds an edge, and can take abuse. It wants to be used for the purpose for which it was designed,i.e. a tool. I carry a chainsaw flatfile and round file for it. Recommended.
