    Quality!

    Posted by B on 10th Dec 2016

Along with NW Ranger this is my 1st SOG purchase. I am glad I bought them as they are really well made & b*g sharp, literally-ouch! Well made & good design, should last for years.
Brilliant service from HH, late pm order & early next day delivery!

Not what I thought it would be

Posted by The Hebridean on 10th May 2016

I bought this from HH this year and after putting it through its paces I have to say:

1.The spine of the blade is TOO THIN! even the whitby diver canoe knife has a better thickness.
2.The serrations are the best part of this blade they really are that useable.
3.The handle is comfortable just nothing special.
4.The blade steel is too soft and does NOT hold an edge for long AUS 8 OR D2 with a THICKER blade would be way better.
5.The sheath quality is really cheap for a blade that cost this much.

This knife could have been re-designed so much better than it has.

Would I buy this knife again?......NOPE!

    Ouch

Posted by Jamie on 15th May 2013

This is a really solid feeling knife and the handle is super grippy even with wet hands. Like Matthew in his review I too removed the front pocket from the sheath as it makes it a bit bulky. The blade on mine is super sharp and the little sod has already bit me on the finger for not being careful enough. It removed a small and oddly shaped chunk from my finger which is still stinging me. I am really pleased with it and its reasonable price.

    Very close to perfect

Posted by Ben on 3rd Jan 2013

As a whole, this is a very impressive piece with quality materials, including the sheath which is sturdy and attractive.

The only downsides I have found if I'm being picky is that the grind on the double edge leading up to the tip isn't quite equal. This makes it appear that the tip doesn't line up with the centre of the blade. The other being that it wasn't as sharp as expected but was easy enough to sharpen.

I am very impressed with the grip, as once your hand is around it, it just refuses to slide! I have heard some criticism due to the lack of guard and the potential for self inflicted injury using it for it's designed purpose. I don't take this seriously, as the grip is so good it's almost impossible!

This is a prime example that USA made machinery, QC and expertise working out of Taiwan can be a very good thing.

    Jack the ripper!!!

Posted by John Barnett on 2nd Oct 2012

I bought this knife to back up my Sog seal. It has a fine blade and is an excellent slashing and cutting tool. As a dagger its lack of guard gives me the willies and even with clean dry hands I wouldn't like to attempt to stab a kevlar vest with it (use a cold steel counter tac 1 if required HA!HA!)However, it is none the less desirable for that in its optional extra kydex scabbard it is one of my favorate knives both for looks and as a nice personal back up companion, wouldn't be without one...

    Great for more than defence

Posted by Steve on 13th Jul 2012

I love this knife, it's increadably sharp and holds its edge well, the point is so sharp it has claimed my blood a few times, having the dual edge is so handy, just remember that it is DUAL EDGE!
    Love it!

    very very pointy

Posted by Mark b on 3rd Sep 2011

    And sharp and dangerous.
Not for the faint hearted or those who are not very careful. If you need this kind of tool or collect them then this is probably the best.

    nice to have

Posted by adam on 31st Dec 2008

My second sog, and i will get more. Bought it as a collection piece to be honest. Good draw length on the bevel edge, nice strong point for piercing, full tang and substantial pommel end. Of course a ka bar would beat it hands down, but still a nice addition.
